Haven't you seen her pre-album singles performance on the charts? That's your answer.

Nothing went wrong, an under-performance was inevitable - simply because she just isn't THAT girl. I don't see anything that makes her different from her peers like Charli XCX, Rita Ora, Ava Max, and

Normani is a far superior performer and vocalist compared to Dua. It's disgraceful to even compare her to that white woman. Let's sit this one out, sweetie.

I think there was too much dissonance with the album, the aesthetics, the performances, the singles and the vision. A small change to the "vacanza queen making a chill album" narrative would have sold this way more I think.

People love when you lean into your brand, but this album got kind of stuck in between a few different ideas with none of them coming fully to fruition. At least the music is good though, cause that's difficult for a flop album to get, not everybody has that!

GP and gays demand her prism and DTN solidified her 'brand' as disco girl hence its chart performance reflect over dua's music.

since the rollout looks like that as DTN lead single perspective, whatchadoin should follow up on houdini november spot. then training season before grammy 2 weeks and OG video (as team's planned) after in another few weeks. album releases on this very week with maria (the break my heart of era) radio promo and let everyone gushes over houdini or these walls to pick up the rest on its own, DTN becomes 'run the world' of the album (last track) and rollout done. extra points on 'potion' solo new version and illusion being hallucinate of RO

The GP couldn't tell the difference between the FN and RO eras, DTN being right in between also didn't help.

She incorrectly identified who brought what to the table (in context of songwriting/ production).  She partially made decisions based on how well she got on with people as opposed to how edgy their creative input to the music was.

Producers whose past work with her has been successful in large market territories (who she later turned away from):

01. Sarah Hudson
02. Stephen Kozmeniuk

03. Picard Brothers

04. Stuart Price

05. Andrew Watt (not Wyatt) external of his creative association with Miley Cyrus

Producers she has not worked with who she should in future, either alone or in conjunction to the above to frame their songwriting in context of production:

01. Lostboy

02. Paul Epworth
03. Ina Wroldsen
04. Max Martin

Any past collaborators not mentioned in either of the above lists should be abandoned for underperforming.

* I don't like Mark Robson's retro schtick in relation to what the market wants from Dua, so I'm excluding him completely.

No? I love Dua but come ON. I can't even believe y'all have the gall to say something this blatantly false.:bibliahh: Y'all will say anything

Every one of those songs you mentioned besides E.T. were international hits. :rip:

It's so embarrassing to see y'all still hate on Houdini seven months later :rip: Sorry that your music taste isn't capable of branching out from blanch dance-pop, but a bop is a bop, and it was not a bad choice for a single. Cope.

Well she's debuting higher than FN pretty much everywhere so something went right

people are freaking out as usual. She just needs to put out 'Whatcha Doin', excessively promote FN-style, and she will be fine. :celestial2:

people were brandishing FN as a disaster when the first-week sales were published, but now it's bigger than any of their faves albums released in the 2020s so far. Give Dua some time.
