Sorry you feel it's bland, but I'm ok with the "dated" assessment considering her direct inspiration for the song (and album) is late 90s/early 2000s. She definitely slayed the vocals and it's a huge deal to see her doing choreography.

she deserves better songwriters and producers, she's never gonna breakthrough with such B-list songs. Epic stays the worst label

The vast majority of the content on this album was written and produced before being shopped to labels and her signing her deal with Epic. She was prepared to do it independently if she had to. She shared that live on Twitch the other night.

 

Out of curiosity, what would you consider the least B-list track on the album?

This song deserves to smash. Truly have had in on repeat with the spring weather in Canada lol. It just hits perfectly

"Cut" definitely. Could've been a proper hit for her in the UK

imo, the acapella intro is so Xtina that made me cringe... we know you can sing very well, it wasnt necessary for me.

Wow, this is awesome!  You can tell Jon Bellion wrote/produced it, his touch is all over this.  

 

I liked Missing You as well, and I see JB produced the whole album.  I will have to check it out.

Yeah. I'm not sure what the strategy for promo on "cut" was. Seems like it was dropped and just left there… The MV came out and that was that. Perhaps she wasn't deemed healthy enough to do much promo around its release, but she went on a small tour afterward so… 🤔

It's supposed to have a throwback vibe + the Tom's Diner interpolation is so catchy + loved the experimentation with the distorted vocals and the gospel influences. This album has such a unique sound and i'm glad Tori found herself on that lane

i need this to succeed for her, the performance was incredible

I wish they saved "Cut" to lead the album. That song should've been a hit.

I'm not sure about that. He posted something when she was in the hospital last year, but she hasn't said anything about him this year. She's not with Capitol Records anymore, though.

For real! I wish people would just say they're not personally vibing with something and/or don't get it vs trying to talk it down. TORI. is absolutely worth a listen and I hope to see more people give the album a chance. Tori had so much fun and she's about to do a bunch of tour dates, so she's booked and busy.
