The Empress, Queen Mother of Key Changes because of her musicality and how smartly she uses them. She has so many that I can't even include them all, but here are some I feel are best.

For example, Whenever You Call might be my favorite because it has a knockout of a bridge that ends with a sustained note that leads into a riff. Mariah has done this exact trick to lead into a key change, but she makes you wait for this one. The first two choruses of the song have a mix of Mariah’s signature falsetto/head voice flips, but the beginning of the third chorus is pretty much fully belted. She sings half of the chorus, she then hits the line “whenever you call”, and there’s a drum hit right as she belts a sustained note in a higher key. It’s glorious.

Forever executes it super well also. and ABMB is a classic.

I Want to Know What Love Is and I Wish You Well actually go DOWN a key

What do you think is the best?

bridge ends a little after 2:55 but she actually changes the key in the final chorus at 3:15

I can't choose. Whenever You Call, Forever and Fly Like A Bird are top 3.

I could’ve sworn she changed the key performing it live during the 90s for the last runs, including her SNL performance, but I might have gotten confused

She had wayy too many good ones. Impossible to answer.

All Ive Ever Wanted and Through the Rain are two of my favorites. Very underrated climaxes

Whenever You Call is next level. Coupled with that those crazy airy runs at the end - just stunning.

wait you rightttt

Whenever You Call (and the whole Butterfly album) has ethereal runs and riffs. Ugh, we are not worthy.

Voted for 'Can't let go' tho.

Not everybody can go through a key change let alone slaying them like Mariah.
