Yes, that is definetely Kelly Clarkson's massive 'Breakaway' era. Her singles were certified radio staples back in the day, and some still are very remembered and played nowadays.

Classic album

Tough choice, love this album. But hands down Behind These Hazel Eyes

All the singles were excellent but my fave is BOY.

Walk Away was the first time I really saw her as sexy and sultry. She pulled that off in the song and in the video without trying. The huge note at the end of the second verse going into the chorus? Masterful. And it was such a great way to end the era of smashes: they put very little into pushing this single and it still did what it needed to do.

since you been gone is overrated, because of you is here abd there, but the title track is the best. i have special memories attached to it from the princess diaries movies.

The sass in Walk Away gives it the edge for me. But any song on that godly album is at least an 8/10 tbh. She snapped.

Does anyone else think SUBG is very generic and overrated. 

BOY and BTHE are my faves (voted for BTHE though). What an absolutely stacked album though. The single rollout should be studied.

I think it's easy to think SUBG sounds generic because it literally defined a pop music archetype for the decade that followed it. But at the time, it was so new that it created a lot of imitators so that might be why it sounds the most "generic". It was the most influential, by far.
