Great song, this and The Power Of Goodbye from that album are some of her best singles/songs ever imho.

Gorgeous, iconic, immaculate  black-haired Madonna was really on another level.

Pop perfection. 

The way this was the fifth single and it’s immaculate pop perfection. That was such an iconic era. The fact that it’s only one of many hit-filled eras she’s had l. Truly the untouchable queen of pop.

Perfection. I only (re)discovered it two years ago and I've been playing it non stop since.

This song is such a masterpiece 

 

The backing vocals near the end. I dont have the proper words. I didn’t study music but when she goes “I realized nobody wins” the subtle ways in which the melody changes. Whew she really did that. 

I really hope there's a resurrection of this type of sound in pop music one day.
