Just because the covers got compared and they are similar in that they have some hip hop influence.

(Though I do prefer Artpop album cover)

Tough one. Hard Candy is more consistent but ARTPOP has higher highs (but abysmal lows). Singles wise, ARTPOP. I really hate 4 Minutes and Madonna jumping on the Timbaland trend 3 years too late while Applause is a legit great song. Both covers are tragic I fear but I guess ARTPOP is an actual sculpture and not a picture of Madonna pasted over generic candy wallpaper.

This was hard, but ARTPOP wins. Both have their fair share of abominations (Donatella, Dope, Swine, Incredible, Dance 2Night, Ring My Bell) alongside some great songs (GUY, ARTPOP, Do What U Want, Miles Away, Devil Wouldn't  Recognize You and 4 Minutes).

 

I prefer ARTPOP because it has more variety. All the Hard Candy songs sound very similar and not necessarily in a good way.

 

I'm not gonna comment on the album covers...

Lol looking at those covers side by side they kinda seem very much alike. But also in terms of artistic progression BTW to Artpop felt like a Like A Prayer to Hard Candy shift for Gaga, skipping all the good stuff in between 

Both have the worst songs in their respective discographies (Jewels N Drugs and Incredible) but I think ARTPOP has more variety and higher highs.

incredible = do what u want (both meh)

beat goes on < artpop (best song on artpop, beat goes on is good though)

devil wouldn't recognize you >> dope = fashion!

voices > gypsy << mary jane holland

ring my bell > applause (how tf ring my bell was not included on the standard is beyond me)

just listened to both and i think it's pretty close... but voted artpop cause it's more sonically interesting

The only bad thing about HC is bad cover concept, album itself is very solid with many bops

this is actually very close, the poll being almost 50/50 too  i'd give the edge to HC bc miles away, devil, ring my bell are top tier, some fun tracks like 4M and she's not me.. AP is so all over the place, guy, venus, title track.. gaga ****** up a lot of tracks after the swinefest (manicure, sexxx dreams).

 

both covers are terrible but gaga tried sth fancy i guess.

Ugh two legendary "flop" albums that outsold your faves!! 

 

Sorry but I'm gonna have to give it to Hard Grammy, it's just too iconic. "Spanish Lesson" alone phew!!!
