I think Nicki isn’t a great person honestly, and I’m not a big fan of either artist.

 

That being said, everyone here hyped Cardi out of spite for Nicki and now it seems like the tables are turning again. Why did ATRL lose?

Honestly the Cardi circle jerk on this site was insane from Bodak to Up. I’m not even trying to defend Nicki’s behavior over the years, but Cardi has her own insufferable moments and they never seem to get called out as much. She also has far less technical ability compared to Nicki and at times seems like she doesn’t even care about rap or her career.

Yes. I would have never imagined Cardi would be outlasted by Nicki in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Nicki’s incredible longevity is unheard of in female rap. And we can all agree she has had an amazing re-bound, it definitely felt like she was on her way out in the late 2010s but she managed to turn that around

i get you but katy and gaga is a much fairer comparison considering the timeline of their albums releases

 

cardi has one highly successful era and they’re comparing her to nicki. the industry seethed at how nicki dominated the rap sphere for years uninterrupted.

 

it is all business with cardi, nicki raps about this and looks past cardi at the white ppl in suits behind her

People forget Nicki (+ Kim and other fem rap legends) paved the way for girls like Cardi, Doja, Megan, Latto, etc. to have successful rap careers and be taken seriously in a genre of mostly men. So Cardi or any new girl excelling in stats will happen. Which was weaponized to say Cardi achieved XYZ so she’s better than Nicki argument. 
 

This trend happens in all music genres. Reality is Cardi fumbled after WAP. 

Cardi is still doing very well with her features and Cardi and Nicki are not peers. I don't understand the comparisons.

I didn't actually understand what happened to Cardi and her delayed music release. She waited for too long and now everything's falling apart. She was the hot stuff everywhere and then the pandemic happened. Everything post Up has been fizzling out...
