Recently miss Lewis' hymn Trouble come on shuffle and I got reminded again what a powerful voice she has.

Sadly, she's been very forgotten today and deserves a lot more love and appreciation for her beautiful and mismanaged discography. I blame her record label for this.

A summary of some of their foolish decisions:

Spoiler

- Not releasing Forgive Me in the US, but instead going with flop single I Will Be.

- Always going for the ballads instead of the uptempo stuff when dance pop was at the high of its popularity.

- Leaving Glassheart, Sugar, Come Alive, Outta My Hands, Love Letter, Take A Bow rot as album cuts.

- Sabotaging the Lovebird release

- Letting her miss out on smashes like All Of Me, We Found Love, Burn and Halo.

Let's give the queen some well deserved love and share our favorite song and single of hers.

For those who aren't familiar with her discography, repent for your sins and start streaming her singles below asap.

I revisited her discography this past spring and fell in love with her all over again. My favorite album from her is still Echo, with my favorite song being between "Can't Breathe" and "Misses Glass."

Stream her albums, especially the masterpiece which is Glassheart, for clear skin

I revisited her discography this past spring and fell in love with her all over again. My favorite album from her is still Echo, with my favorite song being between "Can't Breathe" and "Misses Glass." I remember being particularly obsessed with "Misses Glass," I listened to it on repeat halfway to Houston from where I live.

I hate how underappreciated she is. She has such a stellar voice. I'd love for her to return to music and be active.

Best Leona single: Run

I voted for I Got You because it's my fave.

Best album: Glassheart

Still will never forgive Syco for how dirty they did her, and then how even dirtier Island Def Jam did her, as well.  She deserved better than she got.  They really poised her as the "next generation" Mariah Carey & Céline Dion, and then pushed her out of that.  It's unfortunate.

Glassheart :WAP:

The 1-2-3-4-5 punch of Trouble, Un-Love Me, Lovebird, Come Alive, and Fireflies. And Fingerprints is one of her best ballads.

every once in a while i think about the fact that Leona Lewis has two different songs titled "I Got You". even Spotify is confused :dies:

Syco is a true trash label. They put some effort in the first two of three singles but then they stop caring about the artist and are just looking to make a quick buck out of them.

A bit like Epic Records works.

She has everything to be a huge star but they just let her down.

She used to be my fave in middle school but honestly 2015 onwards is entirely her fault and it’s not surprising she doesn’t really have any fans left.

she could’ve had a super devoted rnb fan base with really good high quality independent releases but she gave us nothing for almost a decade. It’s sad but oh well

I feel like after "Bleeding Love" they genuinely stopped caring.  It like like "Better in Time" and "Footprints in the Sand" were just tossed together as double A-side releases, and it fell.  And the overall bad release of Echo was just... whew.  "Happy", to me, was not a lead single for Leona at all.  "I Got You" or "Can't Breathe" would've suited the album as lead better.  If they wanted something out of the norm and upbeat, then "Outta My Head" should've been chosen.  And Epic Records is an absolute sh*te label, too!

Such an underrated but mismanaged artist! Still love her music to this day. Spirit, Echo, Glassheart, I Am and Christmas, With Love.

I hope she plans to release new albums, but her main priority seems to be her family.

The “Better in Time” praise :jonny4:

Spoiler

I don’t think I listened to a full album after Spirit (which I own:fan:)

She is the true definition of mismanaged. She could have been a massive star but poor single choices destroyed her career.

Why were they so obsessed with her releasing ballads? When she had bangers!!! It’s like they desperately wanting to recreate Bleeding Love!

imagine having something like glass heart yet releasing trouble as lead. Imagine having can’t breathe yet releasing happy! It’s just bad after bad choices.

She was supposed to go on tour with Xtina but that was cancel.

Did she just give up on music completely? I would kill for another album or era. SOMEBODY SIGN THIS WOMEN PLEASE!:deadbanana2:

Do check out Echo and Glassheart. They are worth listening!

Her B songs are just jump high highs! Really on the lead of her discog.

Bleeding Love and Better In Time.

They just go off! :clap3:

Spirit and Better in Time are her best. All of her albums are amazing though. Her voice is incredible. I wish she was bigger and would tour the US since I would love to see her

i only ever play Spirit :jonny:

im stuck at a time when i was 8 years old listening to her album after borrowing it from the public library and my mom never hearing of her before.

Yesterday and You Don't Care (not on Spotify; was on US physical release of Echo) are my faves.

I can understand the sophomore slump, but what happened with Glassheart (the label delaying it by an entire year) really destroyed her career. After "I Am" she should've gone independent and really worked to build a sizeable touring fan base ... like someone else said she really could've carved out a niche for herself in the US R&B market. But I think she's focused on other things now ... she is working on writing a film (per Instagram) and owns a few coffee shops in LA.

That Spirit album was everything. The way I used to play that out back in 2008. Bleeding Love, Better in Time, I Will Be, and Forgive Me all had me in a chokehold :jonny5:

I think if I had to choose a favorite though, it has to be Run. Like whew, what an epic cover and vocal performance! Gets me a little emotional every time I hear it :'(

I really like Run, her version of Stop Crying Your Heart Out and the Xmas One More Sleep song.

Her vocals truly gallop around most of MPGs :ihype:

ugh she should’ve been a mane pop girl

outta my head :jonny: need to revisit her albums soon

tbh "Christmas, With Love" is my favorite Xmas album

I love her voice and most of her singles are great. She had a couple of issues that made her lost that amazing voice she once had, but she's still above average
