i would bet money that the only reason we're getting the 4 extra tracks only on streaming is bc interscope didn't want to give us a 2LP vinyl for $30 when they knew ppl would pay $30 for a single LP

Yes. Partial day streams come out first which lowers the debut. Spotify’s tracking period begins at 7 PM EST

Advantage: 24 hours count for Europe, Asia, Australia... every country with UK time or ahead. With the usual US midnight release, the first day is actually only 19 hours of tracking.

 

Disadvantages:

 

-Some hours will be considered pre-debut, that's around the first 10 hours in Australia, a bit less in Asia, only 1 hour in mainland Europe.

-For some reason local releases tend to do worse. Maybe it has been a coincidence so far or maybe there is a bit of hype or social engagement that gets lost when each person is listening at a different hour.

 

If you think about it the best release schedule for Spotify should be a global release but at UK midnight instead of US midnight, that's when Spotify's tracking day starts and you'll have full 24 hours instead of 19 for the first day. But if you release it at UK midnight the first hours wouldn't be counted on Billboard's first week numbers and that's the priority for every label and artist.

It sounds coherent to me that the deluxe version comes out in at least a month from the premiere, to revive the promotion, I don't think they'll come out tomorrow

enough for you is cute but it baffles me that THAT was the focus track of sour's release week. she was plastered all over new music friday and got a live performance when brutal would've been a much smarter choice (and could've also debuted in the top 10 with the extra help).
