JoJo's "Disaster" Appreciation Thread

Miss JoJo released one of the best songs of 2011, hands down when she decided to give us "Disaster". The single served as a buzz single for her anticipated third studio album, which was never officially released as planned.

In a stunning vocal delivery as usual, JoJo deals with the transition of a happy relationship that turns into a very awful one.

I think it's time to give her some flowers because of this impeccable track. :heart2:

The bridge :jonny:

You shot the bullet, you shot the bullet that killed me
Not feeling my heartbeat and now it's dying
I been through it, I-I been through all the agony
And now my eyes are drying, trying, no more crying
Lying's just a game
So disaster strikes, and I'm alright
'CAUSE MY LOVE'S ON ITS WAAAAAAAAAAYY (YEEEEEAH)

The "No happy ever after, just disaster" still hits :jonny2:

It was cute but it felt too much like a rehash of this superior classic

This song is not available in the US but the album this would’ve been apart of was going to be her best album.

Such a shame

Literally this. Jumping Trains was gonna be that girl and Disaster was the perfect way to start it off.

Blackground are s**t for c**kblocking her from releasing music for so damn long.

Omg I remember downloading this offline onto my MP3 during my computer class💀

still a Classic:jonny4:

incredible song :clap3: carried a similar style to her two biggest hits while still sounding fresh! should've smashed way harder, would've changed the course of her career either way though tbh

Cause the walls burned up and our love fell down!

We support quality, not low quality :clap3:

Anyway, it's a bop and if her career wasn't sabotaged this could have been a hit.

Amazing, the re-recording wasn't as good

None of her re-recordings are very good, sadly :rip: You can tell they are cheaply done.

She rushed it because she only had 3 days of studio time with 2 albums to re record etc & she couldn’t afford more days she said this herself in an interview.

I still think like half of the songs on both albums were done really well. Didn’t know about the time constraint.

Amazing song, between this and The Other Chick the Jumping Trains era would've been an amazing one for her commercially and artistically. We were robbed :weeps:
