no smashas, no good music and yes it was a slump if you compare the entire era to Let Go and even TBDT

thank god she gave us The Best Damn Thing 2 years later

Not a flop but underperformance compared to her first era

Huh?

it sold half of its predecessor, when the sales climate was still healthy, and even nowadays it's one of her worst performing albums on streaming

it wasn't a bomb, but for her it was a relative flop

Jessie J's Alive. I still can't believe how terrible her downfall was.

Vanessa Carlton - Harmonium

After her lead single "White Houses" underperformed, her record label gave up on promoting her best album.

"White Houses" also happens to be her last solo single to chart on Billboard Hot 100 :'(

Nelly Furtado's "Folklore"

No Hot 100 hits. #38 peak. Career in shambles

Luckily Europe stanned it

Happier than ever. Should have been much bigger if the singles rollout was better. HTE (the song) should haven been dropped the same time with the album announcement. It would have been a bigger hit for her after bad guy and brought more attention to the album. I actually love this album more than her debut

Y’all really don’t know what a sophomore slump is huh

Emotions

B'Day

Spellbound

B’Day? A 3X platinum album with a huge #1 hit, and then a global smash with Shakira? Try again

B'day was definitely a slump compared to DIL.

Emotions was considered an underperformance compared to Mariah's debut which was #1 for 11 consecutive weeks, produced 4 #1 hits, and was the best-selling album of the year in America, selling half of its predecessor.

Not to say they weren't successful albums, but definitely could be considered "slumps".

I guess B'Day looked like a slump at first because of the lead, but Irreplaceable and Beautiful Liar rescued the era
