I wouldn’t say H.E.R.’s music is bad but it’s very mid for her level of talent

self titled, mi reflejo, stripped and B2B were amazing but since Bionic everything has been very underwhelming  a shame cause she is so talented

talent is something you're born with, not everybody is lucky enough to be born with multiple talents (on top of other things).

 

demi lovato is an example for me. not that their music is BAD BAD (most of the times) but it's just unremarkable and generic in my opinion.

I wouldn't go as far as saying none of her albums are good, but I think she has yet to release her magnum opus, The Pinkprint being a close contender, but in my opinion she's still to release THAT album

yeah but ultimately an artist needs to have a product of their talent (good music), if there's none what's the point? if you multiply a million with a zero it's still a zero

Charlie Puth is the Adam Sandler of music. Both super talented, but use none of said talent in their projects, with the occasional exception (Uncut Gems/Attention).

I see your point, but you can still be a virtuoso musician who just doesn't create the greatest music on their own. Technical prowess isn't necessarily tied to artistic vision. They're still obviously very talented. 

 

You also have people like Irving Berlin who couldn't read sheet music and barely played the piano but still crafted songs that are canon, albeit with someone who could transcribe his ideas.
