I’ve seen Navy make strong statements condemning gay men who are dragging her Super Bowl Performance on social media. The gist of their stance seems to boil down to she’s pregnant and her health and safety comes first. Do you think this is fair? Should Rihanna be exempt from criticism since she’s carrying life inside her body?

The Navy has work to do now to defend the performance. A great gift given by Rihanna to distract them from harassing her about new music. 

Rih being pregnant is not an excuse for that mess of a performance she delivered.

Is the Navy really defending her right now? I'd be mad.

I don’t think it’s too much to ask Rih to give a costume change, or a surprise guest. Or energy idk. 

Saying that won’t change that **** she pulled tonight. Always been a fan and defended her over the years but yeah no excuse for this. Being pregnant ain’t either.

It isn't misogynistic to say a) she sucked and b) no one wanting new music from her wanted a pregnancy announcement. 

 

She half-assed her performance, there's no new music, and she got pregnant before the Superbowl. I understand why fans are pissed.

This is very ignorant, you should go out and speak more with people with uteruses more often.

No two pregnancies are the same, women can have the same age, be healthy and similarly apt for child-bearing yet one might have a good pregnancy and do weights and even CrossFit while carrying while the others are bedridden and forbidden from doing any effort at all, and everything in between. Same goes with baby weight, post partir depression or any other of the multiple ways in which a pregnancy impact your life. Trying to narrow that to only paint an ideal version of it is misogynistic to the core.

It’s not misogynistic to point out she had 0 energy for the entire performance, and it was a complete mess.

I think the thing is, if she knew she was pregnant, why did she accept the offer to perform? Because obviously that severely limits her capabilities.

 

If she genuinely didn’t know and already accepted the offer, then I totally understand and kudos to her for putting on the best possible show she could under the circumstances.

and like i said- something as simple as a costume change could’ve elevated the performance.

During her Apple Music interview she reinforced how this was important for representation. I wouldn’t be surprised if she accepted knowing she was pregnant and she wanted to make a point out of it.
