Personally I love her comeback story. The way people ruled her out completely after Glitter and she came back and annihilated the music industry  Mimi had nothing left to prove and yet she came and ate like nobody’s business 

That late-90s period when she was flexing her newfound creative freedom was amazing. The songs, the videos, the remixes, the looks... Everything was on point.

 

Emancipation era was great too.

The embrace of hip-hop, the lyricism, the iconic vids, the fashion and looks, the media craze, the tours. But wow, what a moment.

I LOVE Emancipation Of Mimi and E=MC2 BUT the 90s run is just crazy. 

90s run is legendaric (as is the comeback), but personally I love her current phoenix rising from the NYE/Stella fiasco ashes era the most (so a bit before Christmas queen but also including it)

 

she’s getting her flowers, her last studio album was one of her best, people are more aware that shes serving camp moreso than legitimate diva delusion and therefore find it endearing for the most part. whether it’s for her talent and illustrious career or for something she’s posted online, she’s constantly going viral which is fun to see

There was something special about the Emancipation era. It was the first era I saw Mariah in action and remember watching the "We Belong Together" almost everyday 

 

 

Her 2000's comeback era for me. I don't really like 90's power ballads so for me her music got a lot better when she became more urban for lack of a better word.

The Emancipation era was glorious, everything was just right. The way everyone really thought she was over but ILT was really making noise from very early 2005, she did everything right. The music, the videos, the promo etc. Seeing her debut at the top with 400k was huge at the time. And WBT just blew up and took over the entire spring and summer. I was a child vindicated as all my friends that would call her a flop ate it all right up!

I mean the only era I’ve been old enough to fully experience is the Christmas era, but from what I’ve heard- the Emancipation era is so incredibly iconic. Like who would’ve thought that 15 years into her career, after being completely written off, that she’d once again become the biggest artist in the entire world and the “artist of the decade” for a second decade in a row? TALENT

Well, her early music was always grounded in R&B - she just began to infuse hip hop more starting in the mid-90s. Her first two albums are some of her best work - you should listen! 
 

Music Box was the most adult contemporary of the bunch, but even that had half R&B and gospel tracks 

The 90s era was amazing, but I wasn’t born till over half of the 90s were over. I have nostalgia for her comeback era, though. The perfumes, the HSN collections, and of course the albums. I was obsessed 😂

I’m really hoping for another big record for her, not that she needs it, but something other than her whole Christmas thing would be nice.  I want more modern records from her.
