ummmmm this is hard one.

singles are cool on both albums

but i guess hard candy takes the cake because of the lead single.

Hard Candy. That album is overdue a remaster. With better mastering and equalizing, it would sound absolutely amazing.

Hard Candy. In my opinion, Pharrell started to lose his magic touch, in a big way, by the time Sweetener came around.

His modern beats are very minimalistic, and almost sound underproduced, by today's standards.

both very similar albums , fueled by it's non Pharrell singles (4 minutes, NTLTC, GIAW..) but the weighted down by full of forgettable Pharrell tracks

sweetener because of its stellar singles

Madonna worked better with Pharrell than Ariana. Hard Candy is at least enjoyable. Sweetener is a chore to get through.

Is what I asked when Ariana announced her album.

Sweetener, sweetie...

But Hard Candy feels particularly underrated. Give It to Me especially is kinda top-tier Madge.

OT: Sweetener

You should ask your fave, since she attended the mega successful Sticky and Sweet tour.

Hard Grammy :clap3:

Hard Candy is iconic. I miss when Madonna made good music.

Loving the retrospective praise for Hard Candy :clap3:

yes there are trend hopping songs here, but she also brought out some new sounds out of Pharrell and Timbaland— correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is the first time both used disco influenced production?

it’s also not as shallow as some of y’all think. Many songs hint at her impending divorce. Many songs also discuss finding drive/motivation whilst living your best life, something she was probably feeling as she was about to turn 50
