Her entire career is based on a company giving her resources, those same resources could have gone to another female who likely would have had a similar career as long as they were talented/had looks.

 

By all means though, if BoA is similar to GD and produced a lot of her own hits then drag me. But otherwise, she is not uniquely talented or visually stunning person to say she is responsible for SM's current status. And acting like SM would be some nugu company if BoA didn't exist is delusional and idiotic. She debuted in August 2000. 

 

Before that they already had HOT, SES, Shinhwa, and FTTS. BoA is not some originator of SM

 

No one hates BoA as an artist or person, it's a disliking that she has consistently been associated with aespa since the whole DCT ordeal. Let aespa just have their own moment.

Yes Kangta, HOT, SES and so on existed before her but it's a tale as old as time that I guess everyone knows but apparently not that SM was on the brink of bankruptcy until BoA debuted. So yes, SM might have not existed if BoA didn't exist. That's why everyone in the industry jokes about how she owns many of SM's buildings.

 

And please bffr, if she's not uniquely talented or visually stunning, where are the other BoA's? Because we for sure would have many of them flooding the scene. Where are the other female idols writing and producing most of their music, writing and producing for other acts. Why aren't the other SM girls doing what she's done since it's so easy and she's not uniquely talented?

The SMCU episode was good, but feels like they rewrote it so the story felt rushed. Would make sense considering the episode title references Savage and Girls and not just Savage alone.

 

The BoA appearance was unexpected but don't see why she's receiving hate for that. NCT has also referenced KWANGYA in the past...and considering all SM idols are in the SMCU, it's not surprising that others are getting involved.

 

Maybe they want to take the burden away from aespa having to film all these episodes by themselves and want to expand it to other idols. I wouldn't be mad about that if aespa gets to focus on the music more.

Y'all are talking like she is the first success story from SM and SM would be nowhere without her when they, at that point, already had iconic idol groups who gave SM entertainment the millions needed to fund her debut.

 

Every artist, by technicality, influences the company's future generations. But acting like she's the sole reason SM is standing? Girl.

Boa going to Japan and smashing pushed K-pop further though. She and DBSK are a large reason why K-pop groups can rake in cash from that country.  Also she got that push because LSM was obsessed with her face so she definitely had the visual.
