In a shocking plot twist, Batter Up is pretty good! It's not cringy and it's not really a Blackpink reject though they certainly could've released it too. The singing is good, the rapping is good, the song is nice and rhythmic and not very noisy. I have no complaints tbh. I did roll my eyes a little at the standard "YG outro" but it was done well so I can't be mad at it.

 

The only thing that kind of surprised me is that none of the members stood out to me. In a company whose strength has always been the individuality of its groups' members, that's unexpected, but Baby Monster definitely seems modeled more after the current 4th gen template of members who blend together very well with one/two standouts. And it's my understanding that Ahyeon was supposed to be the visual/center/whatever you wanna call it so I guess it's understandable. But still, nice debut or prelease or whatever!

There’s many people that are talented and pretty look at nmixx but if the girls lacks the charisma + it factor they are just another good singer of any talent show that people won’t pay attention to them.  Is easier to find people who can sing well than people that have that IT on them. Like the moment you see Wonbin you know he’s going to be huge he has that it and I think Ayeon is the same case in baby monster

yas, Movie Star was gag of the century but all of their TTs are actually great. Wave is massively underrated!
