I am fine with rap in their songs but they really need to tone down the aave and go for less empty music production to accompany their English lyrics because their songs don't hit so hard otherwise. since they arent native speakers, their enunciation and singing/rapping sounds weak in English. 

 

Oh and I found this video of the xg vocalists singing No scrubs by TLC..... damn how'd I miss it

nnn the shooting star intro verse is truly horrendous with that THICK layer of autotune im sorry

 

I enjoy their rap verses when they're more subdued like in Left Right and Tippy Toes, but overall I can do without them in favor of the melodic parts.

 

Also why did it feel so weird to hear them singing in Korean and Japanese for the first time

Yeah on first listen it’s their weakest song for me. But I didn’t like GG on first listen as well and it grew on me a lot. So maybe it’s a huge grower 

 

 

I just realise how similar they are. Both groups are known for their sexy image, bops, good producers, have central member who does everything ( Nicole/Hyolyn and both of them flops outside of their groups despite their unconventional beauty and immense talent ) etc.
