With Lsfm, they just don't have that member who people think of and they know it's that group. I think “Girls” was just polarizing so it did poorly in domestic digitals. But they still grew by 1.1M physical sales and scored the biggest B-side of fourth gen so far. 
 

If we want to talk about what hurt them, it’s the fact that their first physical came out after 11 months then the next physical took 9 months and then the next took 10 months. Comparatively, LSF have three physicals out (and a Japanese single) in the time it took Aespa to get 1 mini out

they grew so much in sales to the point they were the only girl group to outsell blackpink no one can deny that but I think coachella backlash and girls era overall affected the girls' confidence and aura? idk thats how I feel if it makes sense

I mean, coachella is supposed to give artists huge boost or good word of mouth but people were kinda disappointed by aespachella (understandable since its their first performance with a real audience like a said, imagine coachella - literally one of the biggest music fests and one of the most iconic ones being your first performance ) but this is sm's fault - aespa was already huge before aespachella so people were already perched and expecting a lot from them

 

its fine though, they're fixing everyrhing now little by little and the last 3 released tracks for my world are proof that they can bounce back. idk I just feel coachella did more damage overall than help them but maybe thats just me

Comparatively if we include NJ and IVE, both groups release 2 very successful Korean physicals between the gaps of Girls and My World. SM truly fumbled Aespa with all the power struggle between management and LSM

Coachella isn't for big artists is for experienced toring artists imo, so yeah they lack experience Aespa and half Kpop outsell in their daily basis 90% of performers in Coachella

They're on Division 1 where it's the most competent teams out of all the JYP division system. Each JYP division have its own marketing and management to manage certain artists.

 

List of JYP divisions:

Division 1: 2pm, Stray Kids, NiziU (Korean release)

Division 2: ITZY

Division 3: JYP, Twice

SQU4D: NMIXX

Studio J: Day6, Xdinary Heroes

JYP Japan: NiziU

 

Below was the number of JYP staff per division, but the last update was on Feb 2022 so it might not be the same for 2023.
