They’ll need to stop worrying about black mamba and start worrying about backtrack if they want to be taken as seriously as other 4th gen groups by the geepee but this is still very impressive sales. :gayalipacat3:

send them on a global 60 date stadium tour IMMEDIATELY. I mean based on those numbers they should easily match BPs $300M tour gross no?

Give them a few years to establish a global fanbase and they’ll do more than match $300m. They’re already the quickest kpop group to reach domes. Stay mad about there being room for more than one successful girl group.

SM succesfully launched aespa into their own niche and genre, while its harder to achieve mainstream success but the fanbase will always be there to support, the success will maintains for a long time because they have their own story and lore, the concept might be too much and kinda overdone for people outside the fandom but for MYs it is the reason why they love them in the first place.

SM is really bagging a golden ticket with aespa no wonder LSM said aespa is the only group that immediately gained huge profit since debut era.

Kpop is a niche after all, and having a devoted loyal niche fanbase is what is kpop all about, im glad SM didnt approach similar strategy like hybe which followes trend but eventually is very fickle.. Look at how big NJ and ive are yet their album number kinda underwhelmed for such gg with huge korean hits and huge spotify streams caliber, OMG disnt even manage to collect 1M...

Being a niche group with its own lore and concept will benefited aespa in the long run...

Most My I know personally(including me) stan for the immaculate discography and talented lineup. The lore is very take it or leave it. Not judging anybody who lives for it though because their music is every bit as campy as the lore concept.

Ive is selling better than anybody expected(except for Blinks who hid behind Love Dive's chart run to drag aespa) and NJ has yet to release a real body of work despite the several physicals available in music stores. It's all basically just single compilations. I would fully expect a full tracklist mini/album from them to outsell aespa and bp atp. They're more global than aespa and have more mass appeal than either group.

It isn't 3rd gen we can have more than one GG thriving in the spotlight at a time and being #1 isn't everything. Don't let Blinks pressed by the way aespa effortlessly stole the sales record and coachella mainstage 1st gaslight you into believing otherwise.

I agree in general that aespa having a unique sound and concept will benefit them in the long run. Girls was too noisy and musically progressive for the charts and was still successful enough for aespa to continue to keep pushing boundaries in the future. Red Velvet kinda has the same approach but it never paid off as well as it has been with aespa.

1.5 million preorders already? i was told aespa were washed up and over? did atrl lie to me again :emofish:

aes(the avatars in the kwangya universe) are digital beings created of somebody's online activity that manifest through sinkholes in reality. Each one is tied to a real person.

naevis and black mamba are both digital beings that inhabit the same reality as ae(FLAT, with Black Mamba also existing in/possibly coming from KWANGYA), but exist independently of real people.

The entire plot of their debut to now was Black mamba was interfering with the connection between aes and real people(SYNK) and naevis sacrificed her memories so that aespa could stop black mamba once and for all. Naevis will presumably enter the real world with welcome to my world(a process called REKALL) since it was heavily teased in Girls' lyrics and in the SMCU episode it coincided with.

In general the lore is heavily contradictory and full of rewrites as SM decides the direction they want it to take but the broad strokes(ae, other digital beings, flat/kwangya) stay the same with each comeback. It makes more sense for naevis to debut because it's implied aespa and their ae are very similar so solo debuts for them would be redundant, whereas naevis can more believable release some weaboo uncle fan pandering trite with a photocard included to climb the charts.

um first of all thank you because i don't want to come off as dismissive or rude but this just proves my point. i've seen countless interviews of when they're asked what their group means and represent and they almost always collectively have blank stares or have to do a deep breath intake to explain everything. for branding purposes that's not good. if the concept is this complex to explain and has this much going on it doesn't make sense. at the end of the day they're just a korean girl group making pop music it's not that deep. especially when lyrically their music has nothing to do with this universe that they've set up. like you expect me to believe girls that are singing I C O N I C we do it do it so ICONIC are somehow tied to all of this lore that you just explained? it's so stupid. if i were to tell anybody this it'd turn them off from giving them a chance. it doesn't help that you proved my point by mentioning the contradictory rewrites. i mean the girls already performed their solos during their concerts which i'm guessing we hopefully we get soon this year? what i tell my friends is that aespa is a girlgroup of and from the future and that's reflected in their look and sound with it being very edm, pc music, hyperpop, cyberpunk etc and that in this era they're going from the future to the past. if "naevis" really is gonna make "her" debut they better give her a human counterpart because imagine an AI being on the top of the charts and taking away from the actual AESPA members times and bag Dx

Why is Aespas loyal fanbase not streaming tho :celestial5: the spotify streams are ABYSMAL. I see no stadium tour in your future when your album track are struggling to get to 6M streams.

Also if a MINI is challenging BPs full album they should be able to do a stadium tour NOW. If that‘s not the case I will assume they are just another landfill artist :celestial5:

this has been a source of complaints from MYs who don’t care about the lore because it’s definitely in their title tracks (which is largely what the public will hear)

The broader concept is just metaverse girl group and I think while doing press they do a good job of dodging getting into the weeds of it. The rest of it is just extra content for fans.

Literally all of their title tracks have been exclusively tied to the lore with Illusion being their first song to chart without lore dumping. Ik you don't speak korean but if you turn on closed captioning on youtube they have english subtitles for every aespa MV.

Again I think the broader concepts are easier to digest but aespa is kinda targeted on a specific demo that already consumes kpop, which they've done very well with.

I think that along with the SMCU episodes and lore, this is just going to be fanservice. That's my biggest problem with it though because all fans want right now is more aespa. We've been starved. Naevis is a slap to the face when they've been promising us ae1 since before Next Level.

i just know they are going to serve but god i f*cking hate waiting. :WAP:

aespa hasn't crossed over globally and are(along with NJ) the top 4th gen group on the popular Korean streaming platforms. To be clear though:

aespa is already booking stadiums(Japan domes = mid sized stadiums, its the venues BP are currently touring in Japan)

ALL idol groups are landfill artists and bp fanbars record and boast about higher numbers than aespa(OR BTS for that matter) so if you want to start comparing who's creating more waste we can do that.

Actually IVE probably passed aespa in streams since I last checked. My point stands regardless that they're mainly local and have streams/digitals to match their Korean sales.

aespa is just 1 hit song away from becoming the 4th gen leaders again :gaycat2:

when I said they're doing just fine and yall clowned me. they're like nct - they will never flop in album sales

Yeah I think she knows how to have a good work life balance tbh. And going to a smaller company made that possible for her. She obviously is not smashing anymore with her music like she did before, but she has other ways and deals to earn money so she just does the once a year comeback to tide over her fanbase and goes on tour.
girlie is living life :clap3:

wouldn't making and putting out more music help though? how is someone like her not smashing though? she's literally mother!

HOLD ON TIGHT proved that with the right song they can serve because the way that song picked up steam and got people into them is chef's kiss. My friend who HATES kpop was like yo who are they and why does this go so hard for a song about TETRIS? lol then i sent him black mamba and he's like wait i don't understand what they're saying but this goes hard

Its not our fault that success-stanning Blinks are more concerned with the Kwangya group that makes music for gays than the literal BTS sized global hurricane that NJ is going to be unleashing on the music industry any month now.

Despite having the 2nd strongest vocal lineup in 4th gen GGs, they have a reputation for relying on backtracks or outright lipsyncing. :flower3:

Agree with what you said about aespa concept and music but no.... I dont want multiple gg to success i want the group i stan winning the chart race..  I want aespa to be the no 1 girlgroup... Okay multiple succesful gg is okay as long as aespa no1...

I cant wait for 'my world' to achieve more than 2m preorder so that i can drags annoying bp stans, nj stans and ive stans.. ... Im here to have fun not to play wise man...

Kthnxbye...

BOL4 reaching #5 on Melon Real-time chart:cm: finally a hit, congrats lady:clap3:

It's literally only Blinks hiding behind other groups. Just become an anti-Blink and cheer everybody else on like me. There's too much good GG music out right now to waste time being pressed. :cm:

If you only wanted to win the chart race you picked the wrong horse in the long run.

I’m hoping that this new mini will be as good as Savage. The Girls EP really didn’t clicked for me and almost all tracks (besides the title) were very boring to listen :celestial5:

At least I’m sure that it will be better than that playlist some other girlies released recently :celestial5:

King is returning to Queendom.

Taeyeon forcing me to spend another 3 hours per week with this show.... :deadbanana2: We better get Pixey and Dreamcatcher as 2/6 participants
