Taylor posts statement addressing Ticketmaster fiasco

Featured Replies

She can refund all tickets and redo it without Dynamic pricing like Ed Sheeran did it. There is always a solution if you want it hard enough - it's just that she does not care about it.

TL;DR She might sue.

She can’t and won’t sue. But the Department of Justice is investigating TM and will hopefully reverse their merge with LiveNation to prevent this from happening in the future.

People are overestimating how many tickets went to scalpers/bots. The majority of ticket holders are actual fans who managed to get lucky. Would it be fair to take the tickets they got off them now? The issue at hand is that the demand cannot be met.

1. She didn’t have dynamic pricing enabled

2. Ed only returned 10-15K tickets in the UK, different laws and smaller quantity. Taylor would be returning over 2 million. Insane.

3. She does care and this is a delicate situation that doesn’t have a quick fix. That’s why the US government is involved now. How dumb of you to insinuate she’s avoiding accountability when clearly Ticketmaster are the ones in the wrong here.

Swifties need to realize that their fav isn’t perfect and valid criticism doesn’t equate being an obsessed hater :skull:

I mean saying "Taylor really doesn't care" isn't a drag, most of ATRL's faves in the same position wouldn't care either, as long as the $$$ is rolling in

but that’s unfair to the fans who actually DID get tickets. there’s no way to satisfy everyone now, the damage is done. hopefully it’ll be figured out for the next tour

And then penalize the millions that did nothing wrong and got their tickets fair and square...are you dumb?

This is an issue far bigger than Taylor Swift and her fans. People in her trying to manipulate this industry disgrace into petty stan wars is just sad.

There are no valid criticisms (of Taylor) for this situation. Maybe other situations sure. But not this one.

Time and time again this girl gets dragged into controversy just because she is too popular. :deadbanana4:

What I don't understand is WHY ticketmaster sold so many PRESALE tickets?!?!?! it is extremely unfair for those of us who didn't get selected in the verified fan thing... as well as the capital one presale. Why in the world did so many tickets get sold on presale? that makes no sense to anybody. This whole thing reeks of unfair business practices and mismanagement.

The right thing to do would be to refund the tickets already sold and start over with a general/public sale... first come, first serve.

You don’t know what or who she’s working on behind the scenes but I think is reason enough to believe change will be enacted in the future as a result of this fiasco.

Is this valid criticism in the room with us right now? :rip:

As I said before, she is SUFFERING FROM SUCCESS  Imagine being so massive that the US Government has oppened an investigation just because too many people couldn't get tickets to see you on tour :ahh: absolutely unbelievable

This thread is mind numbing, I truly hope most of y’all are trolling because if not… :rip:

Exactly, valid. Have you seen the first three pages? It's flooded with the same, publicly known OTHs trying to blame Taylor once again for something that's beyond her power, that isn't "valid" criticism, GardenPanty, that's straight up unjustified hate towards Taylor. She could play 10,000 stadiums for free and the same users bashing her here would still be bashing her on any other thread calling her "desperate", "fraudulent", "money hungry" etc. We know what you're all made up from, and also to that one Moderator flamebaiting here, I hope you enjoy your report. :coffee2:
