manwhore Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 (edited) Im no fan of this Twitter account but are the gays this messy to not care enough to appropriate their wardrobe to be kid friendly? The themes here!? Smh. I’ve been seeing allot of cringe outrage from conservatives lately and oddly allot of it seems to be about drag queens but it seems some members in our community are doing the most too and attracting this negative energy and imo it’s not fair to other drag artists. Is This ok ? Edited September 13, 2022 by manwhore
KatyPrismSpirit Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 as long as its not sexually explicit, i dont care. They can just do some threatrical bs, lipsync to a taylor pop song for all i care. Its the parents who ultimately choose if their kid goes there or not. Now if theres provocative behaviors like stripping, throwing bills, lipsyncing to age inappropriate lyrics, its definitely not okay. Some ppl are sick and you dont know their intentions, especially if its a crowd with small children
FightForTanas Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 (edited) Since when are people so OBSESSED with what other people do with their kids? Are you people that bored with your lives? What about all of the damn Gun shows in America that are infested with Families and kids walking around Assault rifles? Does anyone care about that? Edited September 13, 2022 by FightForTanas
Cheers Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 No. Idk why people are so determined to make drag queens PG rated.
Mikeymoonshine Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 "Not a fan of this twitter account" isn't some justification for posting it here. They are an utter danger to the community. Also the video literally just shows a couple of outfit reveals. The outfit underneath is not particularly revealing. Pop girls wear less on tours which children attend all the time. Is this inappropriate? Because there are literal children in this video that also contains sexual themes for a song with sexual lyrics. Yet a reasonable person can understand that nothing sexual actually happened with children in this video, children who are her fans won't understand the sexual themes in the lyrics or be harmed by her wearing skimpy/sexually suggestive outfits on the tour. Why does that kind of logic go out the window when a drag artist is involved?
Daddy Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I feel like there's a difference between drag queens (yas, slay, werk mama) and party clowns (Nina West reading Disney stuff to children)
alejandreaux Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 really the only thing that was even slightly concerning was the provocative outfit, which someone already pointed out is not that out of line with what we see our major female pop stars wearing, or even something like what the WWE Divas would wear, which is a platform that has always welcomed a sizable percentage of children into its mostly adult fanbase: as long as there isn’t anything explicitly sexual or adult oriented happening at any of these events listed above and there’s parental supervision, i don’t see the issue with it
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted September 13, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted September 13, 2022 We really need a rule that Libs of TikTok cannot be posted here.
Roman Holiday Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 I think it’s weird to wanna bring kids around drag queens. And to all the mad gays, yes it’s also weird to see kids at places like Hooters, etc.
XAMJ Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 The self hate is real, drag shows can be all ages.
Lost In Paradise Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 11 hours ago, Cheers said: No. Idk why people are so determined to make drag queens PG rated. it's almost entirely the gay-panicking far right. it feels like NO one in the gay community actually wants this to happen besides some horrible queens who can't book normal club shows so they resort to this
OreGuy Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 All ages draw show does not mean you need to come tho? Stay at home if that's not the gig you want for your kids.

Hephaestus Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 18 hours ago, khalyan said: We really need a rule that Libs of TikTok cannot be posted here. Yes please, make it happen! --- The performance in OP is completely fine and I have nothing against at all ages drag shows. At the same time though I think drag is inherently an art form not meant for children. Yes, it can be adapted for younger audiences, but it has to lose some of the elements that make it unique in order to do so. I'm not even talking about adult stuff, political and social commentary are also something that definitely wouldn't be appealing to kids.
Oktober Knight Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with have kids at a drag show. It's actually quite common.
JohnWayneHolland Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I mean as long as there's nothing sexual or with adult themes then i see nothing wrong with it just like there's songs, movies and tv shows that kids can listen/watch and others that they can't there could also be some drag shows that they can watch and others that they can't
Cyanide Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Yeah I’m confused, in our community these types of drag shows almost exclusively happen in bars and brunches where people are drinking, feeling loose, and having fun. I see them as like burlesque shows and strip clubs catered towards gay men… Not really sure why people are marketing it towards children or why parents would take their kids to a drag show? Singing/variety/comedy performances are different though imo
John Slayne Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 (edited) children see far more nudity on the beach than at any family friendly drag show, it's just that you let conservativism rot your brains so you are unable to think critically for yourselves. this discourse is tired, children entertainment has always been about playing dress up, costumes, and makeup, why are drag artists, who do all of those things, suddenly an issue? i'll give you a hint: homophobia. and please don't tell me that drag is 'adult entertainment', that's like saying all visual media are adult entertainment because corn videos and nudes exist. like obviously there are drag artists and events marketed towards adults but drag is so much more than that. Edited September 14, 2022 by John Slayne
John Slayne Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 also, most of ATRL faves wear less clothes during their concerts in front of 10 year olds so don't come here talking about inappropriate drag queens if you support pop singers you were okay with defending that Cardi B WAP performance at VMAs but suddenly you are outraged by a person in heavy makeup? please
Buddy Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 If it's PG and not sexually explicit, go for it.
