It’s such a mediocre record. What’s your opinion 

I love it! 

I adore it. But although I love Summer Renaissance and Cuff It, I don't find them as mind-blowing as others. I actually think they're in my bottom-tier, still great but not on the level of the rest. 

An album with All Up In Your Mind, Alien Superstar and America Has a Problem will never be mediocre.

I like the more experimental/techno-heavy tracks, and am indifferent towards the more traditional tracks. I think the best way to listen to this album is with really good headphones (and of course in album order) since the production is the highlight. Self-titled is my favourite Beyoncé album, but I think purely in terms of an auditory experience, Renaissance is better, but thematically I enjoy the Self-titled album more. I’m not a huge fan of the art direction this era either, I feel like more sleek art direction would have elevated the experience - but we still have music videos to look forward to so that may alleviate this issue. Overall a good album, with the great songs being career standouts IMO. I would give it a 7.5/10. Maybe 8/10 if the more traditional songs grow on me.

Medium, lack of catchy songs

Love it. And I've given Beyoncé lots of **** over the past six years. But that's all water under the bridge now because she finally gave me what I needed from her. An album built off the foundation of Haunted, Partition, and a little bit of Drunk In Love/Blow. She took the more experimental elements of Self-Titled, drugged them and sent them to the gay club at 1 AM. 

 

No unnecessary features, no Ryan Tedder, no Sia, no boring sad ballads, no songs made with radio in mind.

 

It's experimental, it's flashy, it's vulgar, it's glamorous, raunchy, glittery, wild... The continuous play, the transitions, Rapyoncé, the expensive production... It's wonderful. It all works.

I like it, but I would LOVE it if it were shorter.

It’s not mediocre. It’s a good album but definitely behind her last three releases quality-wise.

I agree with everything you posted  It's a good album, but I think I won't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed ST.

But if you’re calling it mediocre it must be good because you’d never admit to liking anything of hers and you didn’t outright say bad  

I think it lacks catchy hooks and some of the lyrics are childish/immature but I think it was cool that she was trying to be experimental on some of the tracks.

 

It's not for me but it's not bad. Drake's album was actually bad, this is at least listenable.

I like it. Some lyrics didn’t click, like songs were writen for tik tok or Twitter. But it’s solid record. Can’t wait for more!

Given the first impressions on here yesterday I was expecting something else.

 

It's not bad imo but it's monotonous, generic, unoriginal and devoid of personality. "Experimental" my a** lol

 

I don't like Bey as an "artist" anymore but I have no problem admiting that her discography is arguably the best among her pop peers'...but this album is not it.
