Madonna for sure. I've seen her live and despite her vocals sounding ........not good..... her concert was a SPECTACLE and she commanded the stage. It was one of my favorite concerts.

Many of the greatest artists of all time were mediocre singers with poor to excellent vocal training who defined themselves by their music and artistic vision. Madonna, Bowie, Janet, Carol King. Not to say that any of them are bad singers even, but they probably wouldn’t be very much if they weren’t making the music.
