What's the point, Beyonce?

Featured Replies

What's the point of announcing an album a month before its release and release a lead single if you're not going to do any promo/have a proper roll-out?

Do you think she will start promoting after the album comes out?

I'm not even a Beyoncé stan but was excited for a proper roll out and worldwide domination ala Confessions on a Dancefloor.

tbh i was expecting there would be no promo whatsoever

thats a very beyonce thing to do

She probably thinks she’s above performing at shows and stuff. I mean she doesn’t need it but it’s sad because it would boost her numbers for sure.

There’s still another 2 weeks to go and I’m sure more information will come flooding out between now and July 29.

In the past 4 weeks we’ve had:

- Vogue cover/interview

- Album title/release date

- BMS single release

- Pre-orders/pose boxes/exclusive vinyls

- Album cover

In the next 2 weeks we will likely get:

- Tracklist/features

- BMS music video

- Alternate album cover

I think it’s been spread out ok. If for nothing else, the element of having pre-orders will have been enough of a reason to announce in advance, as BEYONCÉ and Lemonade didn’t have pre-orders on their side.

she'll still win 5 more grammys in irrelevant categories so she still wins I guess

So the urban categories are irrelevant?

Admittedly I was looking forward to a more tradition album roll-out from her, including single/tracks build up, a performance here or there and a bit more social activity from her online and in interviews to drum up hype, but I guess after taking all she's learned from Self Titled and Lemonade, this is her way of doing it and that's fine.

Only weird thing is the lack of a music video for BMS but other than that it seems on brand for her.

If it was up to her probably this era would've been another surprise release but maybe her label thought it would be more safe to have pre-orders to boost the debut (which was a smart decision). Maybe that's why the album was announced beforehand.

It sucks though because BMS doesn't even have a MV yet and everything seems kinda dead rn bc she made a comeback without making one... if that makes sense :deadbanana4:

Last time she gave her life for run the world, she overpromoted but it bombed at Billboard hot 100, she is not going trough that again.

^^ That.

She doesn’t promote because she doesn’t want to do all of that work for poor album and single sales. Plus, it’s easier for her fans to have an excuse for why her album/songs flopped: she knows that. The former I don’t blame her because promoting nowadays doesn’t equate to support/big sales.

The MV for BMS is probably coming this Friday. If she waits until release week that’s a weird strategy. But it plays into my first thought.

As mush as I love the song now... overpromotion was not the reason Run This World bombed on the Hot 100. :skull:

Other than her useless side projects, not a single one of her albums flopped, or even came close to it, what is this nonsense :rip: (4 is the only way that’s debatable, but every other studio album of hers smashed)

She will do fine without promo. She's also building up hype without oversaturating herself

Them Adele fans running in here again :deadbanana2:

It’s just that 1 fan who stays perched for every Beyonce thread, even thought they hate her and claims nobody cares about her, but can’t go a whole day without talking about her :cm:

The singles did, hugely.  I would say 4 and Lemonade underperformed and the only thing that redeems them are the  streaming figures. Lemonade being at like 1.1-1.4 M after a year compared to her peers like Taylor and Adele was embarrassing. Beyonce was what? 33-34? Not even past her prime.  Same can be said for 4.

A lie doesn’t care who tells it as long as it gets told. You adding too much on. I would report you for lies but I like to hit people with the truth instead of silencing “threats” because I don’t like the truth.  Stop lying on me. Carry on.

You obsessed Beyonce haters are 1 of 2 things: either insanely sick with delusion or hatred, or incredibly……I’ll just be polite and say not the smartest kid in the class
