Thoughts on this bold statement Madonna made?

Pretty tame for the woman who constantly pissed off the Vatican. She has never been shy to criticize the church or institutions of religion. There's an unreleased song God Is Love from the mid 2010s where she sings about exactly that, that faith can have an important role in your life, but it never gives you the right to feel superior over other people. I think she means that more rather than actual spirituality, because communities and institutions are important in spirituality and cannot be abolished. But the way these institutions are build is kinda wrong and needs to change.

Never heard the song before until now. It features a few very interesting lyrics:

"Religion shouldn't separate

or tell us who we're supposed to hate

We can't deny the way we're made"

&

"Jesus didn't die for your sins

so you could treat other people like sh--"

Bold of her to never shy away from making such remarks in her career. Others would never due to the fear of backlash and media scrutiny.

The fearlessness of knowing the statement will piss off or turn off at least some audience members but doing it anyway :alexz:

And whew she looks good here

She is so woke. The way she shut down someone saying "religion is love" and told it like it is. :jonny6:

Should've put this song on Madame Excellence
