Im shocked ngl. They went from having SIX CONSECUTIVE #1s on the Hot100 to debuting at #13 with their latest lead single.  How did they fall off so quick? The new album is also flopping for their standards.

this is how their "smash" #1s also would've charted if billboard implemented these long-overdue rules to stop bulk-buying sooner. As if anyone had any reason to actually be buying 4 digital downloads of butter in its 6th week for any reason other than chart manipulation

Wasn’t promoted and the song isn’t good. They were basically saying goodbye BTS and the label didn’t care anymore

That’s actually pretty good without their insane fans mass buying it and manipulating the charts. We always knew their chart positions were inflated, but top 20 is still an achievement 

 

Their fans should’ve just let them have some organic success because it’s nothing to sneeze at.

They do. And I'd even call butter a hit. Ofc not of the size their peak and amount of weeks on that spot make them seem to be, but they were popular. Both did fairly well on radio too iirc

Their fans grow up and going to college now  

their music kept getting worse

Billboard changed the rules (and not before time), plus their fans are demoralised because they’re splitting up so not bothering as much.

The new song performed similarly to their other Korean songs before that string of #1s with English songs. It could've probably charted a bit higher without Billboard's new rules but it was never going to be a major hit, especially this kind of song. 

Because the company decided for a quick cash grab with an anthology album (that nobody asked for) before enlistment instead of a proper bop comeback.

Actually everything went right, it is a Greatest Hits, it was never meant to stomp on the pop girls like they always do, their pure sales are insane in this climate.

Do they really have 6 #1 hits???
