Best label changes?

Usually, we tend to talk about careers that went down after a label change, but what are the label changes that made a career thrive?

the only one i can recently think of is BIA moving from RCA / Pharrell’s record label to Epic Records. Since then she’s actually charted on the hot 100, collaborated with Nicki Minaj and J Cole and more than 200 people know her on the internet! :coffee:

Kylie changing to Deconstruction to release two of her best albums ever in the 90s and then changing to Parlophone with Light Years to start her second imperial phase

Didn't Miley and Selena release Bangerz and Revival after they changed their labels? I'd say those two.

These. All 3 artists took on a image they wanted to take, made music they wanted to make the way they wanted to make it, and saw their biggest commercial and critical successes post-label change, so that's a win in my books.

Don't forget the change from Parloflop to BMG in 2017.

Mid-2010s: Flop, can't sell singles nor albums, panned, lost the #1 spot to a live album, relegated to doing Xmas albums

2020s: Critically appraised, album-seller, defeated the UK's top girl group to the #1 spot, acclaimed by the new generation of artists, Disco scores over 170M Spotify streams

When JLo moved from Epic to Island. Her career was dead on Epic and then On the Floor happened, whew! But then she moved to Capitol and killed it again :skull:

Mariah is still a correct answer. Virgin paid HER $28 million in 2002 to end her contract early. A few years later, she released one of the biggest albums of all time.
