smartalek22 Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 For the past few years I have been going through earphones one by one. Every time, they always somehow just DIE in one ear, and then I just tolerate it. I always just bought cheap ones so recently I decided I would spend some money on nice ones and today, for absolutely no reason it just dies in one ear. I literally did nothing, they had no damage, I don't get it. This is a scam they're all working together in one massive Airpods ad. Maybe I should get Airpods next time I just wasn't ready to spend out on that. Istg it's a conspiracy. They're all working together to suck your bank account one way or another; it's all just one big Airpod ad...
jesus del rey Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Nnnnn my new earphone died in one ear after a week too and I was considering switching to AirPods

Gesamtkunstwerk Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I've gone through SO many in my life when I was 13 I saved up to some super nice Pioneers with my part time job and they broke on one ear as well all of the sudden I just gave up on headsets/earphones and got a pair of wireless ones.
Brando Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I've been using the same headphones on a daily for the past 10+ years. No deaths been detected so far
Starshine Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 idk about wired earbuds, but wireless earbuds are meant to be disposable after like 3 years including AirPods. just spend on higher quality ones that are reliable brands.
If U Seek Amy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 When I bought cheap headphones they would last maybe 1-2 years. But since I now have boughten Airpods of different kinds and other higher quality headphones they have never really died on me and I have used them for years no problem. Maybe try to think about how you are treating them? Like do you throw them around a lot? Are they being banged around in a backpack or other bag often? Are they somehow getting wet from maybe sweat or something? Or maybe something else?

RussianRoulette Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 my samsung galaxy buds work just fine after 3 years
ELT Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Cheap earphones / headphones can damage easily. I remember putting my $10 gumy headphones on my dresser and the next day the right earphone stopped working. As the others, invest in some high-end cans and the problem shouldn't occur again. Unless you treat them poorly...
ConceptD Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I’ve had AirPods for over a year and they still work fine

You're likely just getting earwax in them behind the grill, and, after it dries, it blocks the sound. I used to think my headphones were all just dying too, but then I figured out that the canal needed to be cleaned. There are tutorials on YT for how to clean them out, and it's not too difficult.
John Slayne Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I've just spend money on relatively expensive wireless earbuds last month and so far they've been working great so I'm happy with the switch to wireless. Before that I would go through multiple wired ones per year, it was annoying.
Pop Life Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 I resisted wireless earbuds for so long, but tbh they erase this problem completely. I've had my Galaxy buds for awhile now and they remain immaculate

Europe Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 I use two, both have been with me for more than 6 years and still work just fine.
Kayseri Mantisi Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 I'm using the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro since they came out and they are the best sounding things I've ever tried and they're still working great, ANC is amazing too

I wish I'd known this before I threw more than 10 pairs of earphones away.
rzal Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I used to have this problem before I switched to wireless The cable ALWAYS broke
jomarr Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 That’s why wireless is godsend. I have my AP Pro for 2.5 years and i think there’s no problem yet.
