Artpops quality was definitely not the problem because its her best project in every aspect. Applause stomps on every BTW material single wise and visually wise. For some reason I think the slump was out of her hands. No matter how the lead sounded, it flopping was inevitable

The music industry changed drastically.

Having a #1 song is nothing compared to how it was back in the 2010s, hell even the 2000s and let's not even discuss the actual legendary #1s from the 90s-80s.

 

Sure, Gaga isn't dominating the world like she used to, but it's never about how hard you fall more than how you go back up.

Not sure why she went into acting as a pop star. Pick a lane people don’t like someone who’s doing too much and honestly she’s doing wayy to much. Makeup, acting and music.. way too much. Even her catalog is Messy. Jazz, pop, rock, hip hop and country.. she’s just a mess and clearly isn’t authentic with anything she does. 

The EXTREMELY meteoric rise was always going to lead to an insane downfall, yes. It was guaranteed. It's just seen as worse because the fans thought she was always at the TFM/BTW level of popularity even during ARTPOP/Joanne days.

ARTPOP is a terrible album aside for some 4-5 good songs  

ARTPOP was terrible, BTW had some of her best songs, including the classic EOG.

 

Gaga had 2 huge era, and TF peak was too high so it made everything else look minuscule in that graph.

if we remove C2C and ASIB i'd say her decline is pretty consistent  math class always was good
