Yes. I said this when it first dropped but she got this habit of just dropping music without much thought. It worked with tun because the music was good

OT: Yeah kind of. I think it was less to do with the musical content and more to do with the whole era being relatively short and uneventful. I think the album will age pretty well because of the minimalistic production though.  As an era it was lackluster, there are some tracks that could of been more well thought out (ex: six thirty) and the deluxe tracks offer nothing to the album. But the overall narrative is clear and it is sonically cohesive. I think it didn't connect to listeners as much as TUN did because an album about the emotional rollercoaster of going through a break-up and navigating grief  is a far more interesting and relatable narrative than what Positions offered. Ariana also wasn't all over the media & social media during Positions like she was during the Sweetener/TUN era which may have contributed to the initial lukewarm reception of Positions. 

yes, I literally have over 1k streams of every Ari album but this one I streamed like 100 times. It's a panned bomb in my book.

career ending, just a big ole “meh”, no inspirations, disaster to an immaculate discography, forced to sell make-up and host singing shows because of it.

Music-wise? No  Like it's almost 2022 and y'all are still pushing the narrative that it's "half-arsed" & a bad album. It didn't age really well for me but I can at least acknowledge that there are gems like motive, my hair, nasty, safety net, title track, etc.

Like just give it up already, just say you want her to release more "pop bops" like Into You and go 

 

Regarding everything else, yeah but tbf she hasn't really put effort into promoting an album since sweetener. motive & pov definitely could've gotten some push & maybe music videos atfer both went viral on TikTok but oh well.
