some of you may not be fans of Taylor Swift's lyrics for their childishness and naiveness,

but I think we can all agree most of her lyrics are at least heartfelt

but why do her melodies never match her lyricism?

it's not news that her melodies are plain and extremely uninspired,

why is that? is it simply because of the market which is flooded with people with taste like that?

or is it Taylor her own issue?

Most are intentionally like that for radio and quick hits, folklore and evermore melodies are mostly aaron, he sent her tracks and she wrote lyrics over them, she does write cute melodies tho by herself its not rare but yeah, lyrically she is stronger

She just had a smash, critically acclaimed and AOTY winning album full of emotional songs.  A 10 minute version of one of her most emotional songs to date hit #1 on the Hot 100, 9 years after the original version came out and becoming the longest #1 song in history.  A couple of her most streamed songs are Lover and Wildest Dreams.  It's pretty safe to say that she won't "always be known as the type of artist writing teenage breakup songs".

Tbh I personally agree that ATW is both melodically and lyrically good

but >90% of her discography is just melodically uninspired and basic

i mean all artists receive criticisms for their music but i dont see taylor is "known for basic and uninspired melodies"
