I finally watched Malick's A Hidden Life, which has been on my watchlist since it came out, and it was so dull. I loved the dreamy feel and how lyrical it was, but this kind of story definitely didn't need a 3-hour runtime. It would have hit so much harder if it were under two hours. The Tree of Life remains his only great film.

Malick is extremely hit or miss imo, if you watch his first 3 movies you've seen the best of his filmography.

The way I absolutely loathed To the Wonder, Knight of Cups, and Song to Song back when I binged them in 2018. Badlands and Days of Heaven need a rewatch, tbh.

I havent missed a single Melbourne show from him heck I drove all the way to Adelaide to see him but we ain't really in good terms anymore. like idk if he has to face me will help things or make it worse. He one of my favourite artists and its much harder being a hater then a fan. as much as he bugs me and can be rude his music really is amazing and has healed me a lot in the past before I found stray kids.
