That being said, I still feel like none of the choreography she gets is anywhere near her full potential as a dancer. I get that the difficulty level has to be lower because she's singing live but it's odd that a lot of her biggest strengths as a dancer - fluidity, control, movement quality, musicality are exactly what's not showcased in her choreography as a pop girl. Feel like sh1t music video, and Sports Car VMAs is the closest anyone has gotten to capturing what makes her dancing special.

yeah a thing i remember thinking about the last tour that it was a bit like she was trying too hard to pull as much choreo in as possible? i'd get the sense in some songs that it was supposed to be the main attraction - like it was a reaction to criticism about not having done enough before (she's always swung back and forth) - and she was almost becoming her own back up dancer rather than it feeling like a tate performance

definitely agree that the show as a whole feels a lot more elegant now too, and just the fact that she's singing so much really elevates her onstage presence? like she has so much starpower and it was threatening to get lost, it's great to see how natural it feels to see her owning the headline slot in front of that massive crowd.

she does feel a bit less involved than she has at times in her best one-off performances but i think this is definitely the best balance i've seen over a full show

She said she had her first session in February. She also said in Vogue that she's working on something this summer that she's really excited about sharing, which I assumed was a fall single. But maybe it was the CK ad

there's so much going around atm that i'd just assumed there was a new era more or less ready to go, would be very on brand for her to make a big fuss tho and then do...absolutely nothing lmao

It would be just like her to do that. I remember when she had her first live late-night tv performance in 2021, and she had already started teasing her debut album and feel like sh1t then, so everyone was expecting her to premiere feel like sh1t live, but she performed that way instead because it was viral on TikTok.

yeah i think it's fine for her to leave it esp since things seen to be building for her in her absence now, it's never felt like she was vanishing from the conversation like it did after think later

i do worry tho that we'll have this long era of it looking like something's happening that never arrives and it all gets a bit radical optimism

the charts are dead rn. she could've had a solo #1 in a few countries easily.

If she releases in late september - early october the single can have a healthy run before december. it is not too late

Exactly. As long as it's only the single and not the album, late September - early October is fine. If it's a smash like greedy it can have a healthy run before Christmas and repeak in the new year. If it's an IOIO situation then the release date is the least of her worries
