Not too concerned yet… second day shows who stuck around, this is a very unconventional sound for her. So we’ll see if maybe it stays cute from here on out. Then there’s still movie release. And Born Again next Friday? Maybe it pulls a Cuff It.

The chart obsession is real lol the song is beautiful no matter how it performs on the charts. If it garners an Oscar nomination then it would've served its purpose....ultimately it is a soundtrack single not her lead so there's nothing to drag

I’m so happy she gave us this song  And if it flops, it flops. Won’t be the first time. Couldn’t care less tbh. 

If anything if this song doesn't perform well it may be an eye opener for her not to go the ballad route for R9 lead lol 

The song being a ballad isn't the problem lmao, y'all have such a one dimensional view of what a ballad is. It's obviously just not the most mainstream friendly track.

Well it's a very slow harp driven ballad....I love it but I'm not surprised it's not connecting with people out of the gate. Still think it will get it's 2nd life once the movie comes out and may be stable through the holidays

And this is why I said this wasn’t the full comeback just a taste of what’s to come. Some people are setting her up from both sides and I’m tired of it. It was very clearly never gonna be a smash but it’s a beautiful song nonetheless.

I know, but I just get tired of comments acting like ballads aren't more than capable of being major hits.  But yeah, it's far from over, there's still the movie release, potential TikTok-ery, and maybe we can get a performance.

I would be here for R9 lead being a mid tempo ballad like Diamonds but I think LMU's performance may impact her lead single choice for R9. I would also be here for a dance song on top of an amapiana beat!

The song is doing fine. It’s a harp driven ballet for a soundtrack released on Halloween weekend… and even if it does flop, it’s in honor is Chadwick Boseman. Whether it tops the chart or not, its meaning is no less powerful.

I think her vocals and the production on LMU are far more enjoyable than Stay (I even listen to the instrumental on its own). I agree that Stay is a better written song.

Stay is in every aspect better except for the vocals.
