Disagree with her views. Criticize what she said. Stop listening to her music if that makes you feel better. That's all fair.

But the way some people are reacting, you would think she personally drew the borders, started the war, funded the weapons, and somehow approved every tragedy happening in Palestine.

And of course, everyone is suddenly a geopolitical expert now. Amazing what a few Instagram stories, TikToks, and infographics can do. People who probably couldn't explain the history of the region without Google are now handing out moral verdicts with absolute confidence.

I grew up through the wars of the 1990s and the NATO bombing, so maybe I'm a little less enthusiastic about reducing war and politics to "good side / bad side" social media content. Things are rarely that simple, no matter how convenient that would be for everyone's favorite narrative.

I don't agree with her views, and honestly, I would have preferred that she stayed quiet because she clearly isn't educated on every aspect of this issue. But apparently having a bad or uninformed political opinion now means everything you've ever done in your life gets deleted too.

All the money donated to children, charities, humanitarian causes, all the good she has done - apparently none of that counts anymore. Wrong opinion detected. Entire human being cancelled. Case closed.

Criticize her all you want. But the public performance of outrage, the mass blocking campaigns, and the desperate need to prove who is morally pure enough is becoming almost more embarrassing than the original comment.

I'm done with this place!

I appreciate you writing this here and I have to admit that you raised a lot of great points. And you're correct in a lot of them.

I think the reason the response is so intense is because of her status. Who she's been her entire career. Popular underdog. Defender of the helpless and the outcasts. Always.on the right side of history. We grew up with her and ahe saved all of our lives.

So to see that she supports genocide, is completely against what she has preached. Which is deeply hurtful. The response wouldn't be the same if it was somebody else who didn't make a career out of defending the helpless.

Of course, you gotta add a bit of misogyny as well in there. People are always harder in women.

BUT, she should have known better. Nothing can justify her.

How is being against anti semitism the same as wanting mass genocide? Shut up everyone honestly, bunch of absolute monkeys

Are you that dense? Free Palestine has nothing to do with antisemitism. Only dumb people cannot tell the difference. Alecia apparently being included in these people.

Welp, I have been a Pink stan since I was a kid. I don't hate her but I see her completely different than I used to now. Dear Mr. President was such a great song and I never would have believed this is who she became. It's not antisemitism to say Free Palestine. I can't believe she's that dumb.

She's going to the local Goodwill with the Gwen, Jewel and Carrie CD's I got rid of years ago. I won't be buying anything from her again.

Some of the last few takes in here are .. horrific.

I totally get it's a challenge admitting your fave has gone too far off the deep end, and I for sure cut her off earlier than most of y'all, so I have more of a headstart here ...

But the paragraphs and think pieces are fully unnecessary at this point. She's reaching a Kanye-lite territory with these abominable takes, and you justifying her, or giving her ANY sort of grace, or trying to mute down how bad it is, is only makes you look really bad. If it weren't your fave you know you'd be lashing them. Be serious and come on now.

This kind of things doesn't really impact on artists like, just look how Chris Brown still there and how all the Country artists known for racism are still there.

There are a lot of artists that are death or even retired from the 80s, 90s, 00's that no one knows if they are Pro Palestine or Pro Israel but people still streaming their stuff.

I would say the only artist that flopped after a scandal these days is DaBaby with all his homophobia but he was going to flop anyways like zero solo smash hits outside of ROCKSTAR or Levitating.

Carrie Underwood was the biggest thing in country until she performed for Trump, I guess she forgot most of her fanbase (at her concerts) was women and gays, not Trump supporters.

Gwen Stefani has also fallen off hard after being cancelled.

Calling her out and taking a stand against that terrible post she shared on Instagram and simply staying quiet and not take any actions or expressing your criticism against her public position are two different things.

Fans call her out in hopes she changes her stance. You would be the first one to cancel P!nk if she publicly stated "let's bomb Serbia into oblivion" back in the 90's

Putting on rose colored lenses as fans will not do any favors to her legacy longterm

Jewel? Omg what did the Doin' Fine songstress do? weeps

I understand people are mad at her, but she's also Jewish so I think she interprets criticism of Israel as an attack on her Jewish ancestry (like a lot of Jewish people do). I don't think she's coming from a place of malice but just ignorance

Oh she totally is, but doesn't matter. I'm Jewish, my friends and family are, and we all stand firmly against what she moronically is fighting for. It's detestable and idgaf who you are; if you're spreading ignorance and hate, you're DONE.

I also agree with this, but it's extraordinarily ignorant to think criticizing the war crimes of the leaders of a nation = hating that entire nation's ancestry.

She's a zionist but Macklemore also having a history of anti-semitism probably put her over the edge in sharing that post. Not a single soul cares about that awful "costume" nowadays but it's just as bad.

Couldn't have said it better. I didn't see any fans here supporting her, quite the contrary, everyone agrees that she's absolutely wrong on her takes and is disappointed at her.

But that simply isn't enough for people on social media, they want everything to be black and white, good and bad, nothing in-between. That's just not life at all. Do they discard people from their lives because of such mistakes?

I wonder if they've really never done anything wrong in their life or had a horrendous take on something because they were misinformed/blinded by the context they were inserted on, specially when it comes to religion.

Comparing her to a confessed nazi that said/done terrible things multiple times?

Wow. Good for you!

Pardon my poor English, I'll try to explain myself well. Some of you are being too aggressive, and blinded by the outcome but not seeing the whole picture.

This whole Free Palestine thing should not be just a slogan, people are not thinking rightly when it comes to this situation. Free Palestine from what? From the control of Israel? Yes. From the control of HAMAS? Abso-thefing-lutely! Who poked the bear first and hide behind and use the civilians as meat shields? I don't see one person talk about this. Is Israel overreacting? Unquestionably. But Israel should not be the only side to blame. This was never a black or white, wrong or right situation, it's way too complicated. By the way, Free Palestine also not a "let the people decide" situation, because under the control of HAMAS, there is no way this world would allow terrorists build a nation. Mind you, if "let the people decide" is a way out. Hitler would've finished his "job".

Saying all people should be free is just stupid. The fact that Macklemore stood on that stage, saying things like that are enjoying the privilege which others don't. Living in a society, means you have to compromise, sacrifice part of your free wills, because your own freedom might interfere the others. Selling the idea of Utopia is easy, too easy I would say it's cheap and irresponsible. Not to mention this guy had history of mocking Jewish people.

I am disappointed in P!nk is because she should be smart enough to know not to pick a side on this topic. 2 wrongs don't make a right. But does it stop me to love her? Of course not. I could love her while accepting she is not right all the time. Do I see her as a genocide supporter? Nope, because she never said anything, shared anything showing her support of genocide. The only time she openly said anything about this war was condemning HAMAS and asked for peace, and I'm with her on this point.

Macklemore was very recently dropped off of an Ed Sheeran festival tour because Macklemore said free Palestine and linking it to his own daughter and wanting ALL children to have a chance at life.

And semitism includes Arabic speaking people too, not just those who speak Hebrew.

I used to think like this, but the malice is right there at the moment she started being a genocide negationist. Like the time she reposted a video of a woman mocking some pro-Palestine protesters, instead of informing herself through the chants and the data of how many innocent people are being murdered by Israel, she just took the side of the Zionist interviewer

So now even those who refuse to hate her should feel ashamed?

No one has said any of that. I don't hate her at all, she was my fave for over a decade, but I still feel ashamed for her stances over all of this

Perhaps she is just ignorant, but it is clear that Pinks concern is clearly just around how in some instances free Palestine can lead to antisemitism. I am not Jewish, let alone a high profile Jew, so I can't understand what she would feel. We don't know any back story to what's been happening behind the scenes for her or her family. As long as she never endorses casualty events, we don't need to carry on. Benefit of the doubt goes a long way when we already know so much of what she stands for.

And don't come at me saying I would cancel some other artist if they did it. Actually, I come here for music related news, and have more of a life than to dictate my music interests around an elusive instagram repost.

It's one thing to want to stop antisemitism but her silence on Gaza has been deafening. It made me question all of her works with the United Nations and advocacy about equality and love -- does it mean only children of certain countries deserve help? Do the children not deserve happiness and to be free from tyranny?

It's one thing to want to protect her ancestry but to proudly collaborate with a known genocide denier (of all the awesome Jewish people there are in the world) is very telling.

By the way, even if Hamas is really using children as human shields and hiding in hospitals, you simply do not bomb hospitals and kill children because that is a war crime! And because Oct 7th was a massacre/atrocity, what's happening in Palestine must be classified as such.
