Yep, there was no intro + no lyrics available lol it’s her birthday and we still can’t catch a break

I don’t know why the genius video is locked but I’d like to see it. And the video too. We know the song won’t be a hit but I think it’s much better to put some content out there while we wait for the next single

they completely screwed up with the editing. there was none of the usual background sounds and the lyrics don’t show up on screen when she’s singing. it was also really choppy

Oh that was cute. And she sounded/looked great. Wonder when that was filmed especially with what she said right at the end of the video I was like honey… you’ve got a big storm coming. 
 

She’ll have to admit though releasing Fair was not it. That was not what people had been waiting months after WS for especially without a video or promo she couldn’t have been that delulu about it’s chart appeal

"I keep driving under the influence of your love" is a lyric from it. I think they said it's a pop song that's sort of midtempo/moody. (right?)

The fact that she didnt perform wide side at BET. She needs to have a giant Lizzo BET moment and put on a stellar performance.

I don't even think there'd be this big stigma around what she should be releasing if there was any kind of concentrated effort. It's a good song and it's not unrealistic to think it could've done better on Urban and Rhythmic radio after Wild Side did pretty well on there.

 

I feel like you see plenty of the artists still trying to establish themselves in pop release stuff every few months to try to see what sticks and there's not really any fuss (i.e. Conan, Ava Max, Saweetie, etc.) but with Normani everything's so staggered out, dramatic and incongruent.

I do think she came off really personable in this though and her voice sounded great, so I hope it attracts her some positive attention.

Right. Like damn put some effort in. If she was out doing consistent promo, putting the video out and getting people to actually hear this song that means so much to her we wouldn’t even care it’s a bubbling under. It’s that we get so few and far in between on top of bad promo most of us felt like why the hell did she drop this

What 6 pack you talking about? Did more content get sent or you're talking about the Candy Paint/DUI combo? Someone else also said it has a 90s disco vibe and kinda reminded them of Blinding Lights' pre-chorus a bit. If the song is a mix of Ciara's DUI and Blinding Lights, then it's already a 10 for me! 

 

Yeah she sounds great in the Genius video. It's pretty obvious she's been working with a vocal coach (no shade intended, every pop artist should work with one!) and you can definitely hear the results.

 

Well at least she's putting out some content...just not the content anyone wants 

 

Sorry but I'm not gagging at the Fair lyric video or the birthday post, I'm tired of her antics. It wouldn't have been too much effort to post a snippet of Candy Paint similar to the Fair snippet in her car as part of that birthday post

99% of me has learned not to expect anything from her posts, but there was a lingering 1% that hoped there was some sort of Candy Paint reference or snippet hidden in that birthday post somewhere

 

But on a more positive note, the pictures are stunning. Every time she posts on Instagram, I feel like I'm seeing her for the very first time. Her beauty is otherworldly
