The demo seems like it could actually be a good song once the verses and instrumentals are tightened up a bit. I have no idea what's happening with her but the radio silence for this amount of time is worrying.

 

Tbh, I'm thinking that most of what she did before is scrapped and they're back to the drawing board. If that's not the case then, I have no idea.

They def went back to the drawing board last year after Fair, she was cooking stuff with Tommy Brown and Starrah but who knows what happened

Well depends if you believe 'Fortheenation' insider or not. They said today that there is no release date for candy paint and no video still has been shot. Right now there's no further movements going on with any of her projects. They might possibly be looking for a new single to put out or just are shelving her for the time being... 

If the leaked version is actually the same version they sent to DSPs, then it suddenly makes perfect sense why her career instantly died immediately afterwards  The song itself has potential, but that particular version is atrocious.

 

But hey, at least we got closure now.

I'm 90% sure they'll scrap Candy Paint and move on with another single (if they even bother releasing another single).

I feel bad for her because this song is kind of good, and now she will probably be shelved forever

I want to know what’s going on in the studio because I know there has to be songs being shown to her that she can make a hit but that’s not happening… Like even with all the leaks that have came out, none of them are all that great. Like they don’t have replay value. 

 

Of course the Stan’s are eating them up but they’re literally gonna love anything…

She's a perfectionist to a fault. 

 

Fully fleshed out and final versions of these demos + the droplets could have made a solid EP to keep her name out there and tide people over. Coulda came out last year while she perfected the album:

3. Fair
4. DUI
5. Touch Myself
6. 1 On 1
7. Insomnia
8. Somebody Else
9. The Real Me

The lack of material officially coming out is baffling, thank god we have leaks.

Some of the nation on twitter are thinking about trying to make it go viral on tik tok which I think is very smart.

 

Candy paint sounds catchy. I want to her the full finished product though.

i really love the CP demo but yeah it leaking like that is not good at all, there’s no way on earth that girl is going to release a song that’s been heard in full already…

 

not even just about normani, what has happened with all of DNLA is really sad, 5H wasn’t a big enough brand to wait out for this long before starting a proper era, they should have all struck whilst 5H were still semi-on peoples lips :( 

 

still holding out hope that we’ll get at least the lead by the end of they year though 

I like the Candy Paint demo but if the final version was going to be light like this than no. The heavy bass version from the party leak or nothing at all. I feel like Normani’s entire solo career despite being successful at first they kept holding back. Motivation aside we never really did get an undeniable bombastic uptempo from her which is all the people ever wanted. Now it’s been years with nothing at all. I’ll never understand why she wasted everything when she had the perfect set up for success. 

Candy Paint is literal ear worm, even in its can quality lol Better than whatever her peers have released. The lyrics, the sass, the potential finished instrumental. What a loss.

And now all these songs that "aren't making the album" have leaked, and a number of them are pretty good. They shoulda just released an EP/Mixtape type project for the fans while finishing the album up. 

 

It's about to be TWO YEARS since "Wild Side" which was a big enough hit to have a project follow. IDK what's going on, but the label can't be serious 😕

I don't think leaks should prevent artists from releasing something.

 

The issue is the label not releasing any music for a year now. 

 

Honestly, I have zero faith in her label.

no reason why this couldn't come after "wild side" and we had an album follow. and this was just a demo! obviously with more tightening up, it would be perfect. but it still bangs!

 

this would've sufficed more than "fair" tuh.

It’s honestly horrible what’s happened with the 5H girls since disbanding. Like they really should’ve had one more album before departing at this point because they were all in their Early 20s still ready and eager to be solo artists and now the only one who still seems to be trying to build a solo career is Lauren.  The fact that NONE of them have a debut out after 5+ years and C*mila is working on her Fourth is a DAMN SHAME!
