dwhap underperformed and the album was scrapped, it’s pretty clear. i remember she was doing that james corden interview and she said the same thing about every friday being a “pink friday” and the album was coming before summer at the time. the label switched plans to focus on a greatest hits album to go with the vanguard performance but i don’t think anyone was expecting super freaky girl to smash the way it did so nicki was caught unprepared/without material for an album 

 

the rollout was basically rebooted with red ruby. i really do wonder about the budget for the album because none of the official singles have had a real video since super freaky girl and that one seemed like it was thrown together last minute after the songs success. all the other videos we’ve gotten have been for other artists/projects 

DWHAP didn't do so bad as far as I remember. It did better than I've expected. And let's not act like PF2 has a smashing hit single so far. Unless Barbie World is really part of the tracklist.

my sources have confirmed it’s on the final track list babe, that’s why she didn’t play it on live

 

saving the best for last if you will 

 

DWHAP peaked at #2 on Urban radio. I wouldn't say that's a flop.

super freaky girl is the reason the album was finally greenlit after all those false starts, that’s the hit single
