People definitely overrate its value, but it does have an effect. What level that effect has just depends on how the song in question is already doing without the TTH #1. For example, I estimate DWAS got around an extra 315K streams yesterday beyond just the usual Friday bump songs see. We can't attribute all of that to the #1 TTH effect, but let's just do so to make it simple. For a song that's already smashing like DWAS, that's low key a drop in the bucket. But if they had put, say, Hold My Hand at #1 on the Friday of its release week, when it debuted with only around 1.2M streams, a boost like that would have been somewhat significantly impactful. We can't exactly say it too would have gotten an extra 315K streams from a TTH #1 position, but you get my point.
