idk but I think there's no need to deconstruct the way stans love Gaga like this, and be put into categories. It's not that deep and it's much simpler than how you put it. I've been around since 2008 and I didn't keep up with her gigs during both the ARTPOP and Joanne eras but I always stuck around somehow. At least Gaga has the range and can offer a variety of things for us to occasionally hop in and out with what is going on with her, whether is makeup, jazz, film, pop. Some people make the Olympic performance a big thing, others do so about Joker. To each their own. She's a versatile artist, so why can't we be vers.

After Gaga's contract with Interscope is up she should release an experimental non-pop album, preferably rock. She's too talented to keep releasing pop albums (& no BTW isn't "rock" & Joanne isn't "country"). She can do it under a different name for all I care. It will flop and alienate fans but it's necessary for someone of her talent level.

I think she extended her contract for who knows how many albums, but maybe I'm wrong. 

 

 

But I agree with your point, and I hope LG7 isn't just "pop" but she brings something unique and experimental. Something like what RoL was to Madonna back in 1999

Since Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album is no longer in the Pop field, I wonder how support will shift since it's now in a field with jazz, contemporary instrumental, and musical theater categories if she releases her own jazz album.

I was actually gonna mention Laufey. In fact, some of Laufey's vocal takes on her last album sound like Gaga's jazz vocals.

this is true. and don't want to spin this into a different debate because personally, I'm at work and not interested in duking it out rn, but although she's respected by the community for reintroducing the genre to a new generation that probably would've never checked out jazz in the first place, she's not exactly viewed as a trailblazer for the genre. 

 

it's actually one of the reasons why i want her to do a solo jazz project at some point with original material  lowkey, joanne could've been that record had she and mark decided to go in that direction but i digress. i'd love for her to do something more contemporary, and, if she's into it, really usher in a new era for jazz.

I was thinking this too, the way now would be a perfect time for another Charli collab with Brat blowing up but it'll prob never happen after this
