Weirdly, I think all the "she's playing herself comments" that always come up, no matter the movie, are actually kind of a compliment. Gaga's not a transformative actor from what I've seen so far, like a Meryl or Cate Blanchett. She exudes old Hollywood actually, from her face to her mannerisms that are always there. It's just magnetism, a very specific air around her, an "it" factor. And not many have that these days.
