It's actually not tho, bc we know JFAD OST will be virtually all covers of jazz/showtune standards. It will be an anomaly if it smashes on the charts. 
 

However, if the signs we've seen so far point to anything (Prince references, bat candy, Gaga herself saying she's interested in blending different art form mediums), I can see LG7 being heavily inspired by / an extension of JFAD.
 

Like I said before in here, what studio wouldn't want an original Lady Gaga album cross-promoting their movie? And Halloween is THEE perfect time to release a dark inspired album

Also, we must be realistic about the fact that the primary market for the soundtrack is us, even if some of us hate jazz music.

 

We are her fanbase and the primary buyers of her merch and vinIys. If they release both the album and the soundtrack, one of the two will get less money, and of course, the soundtrack will suffer. I mean, who cares about covers when we can buy LG7?

 

But with a break between the two some of us will consider buying both the vinyl, etc.

I hate the idea of her new era being an appendix to J.FAD but I'd be lying if I said there are no signs pointing to that

We know its gonna be covers and there were rumors about one or two original songs in there, but we simply dont know the reception Joker and its soundtrack are gonna get, if its good maybe we do get a music hit with it. It would be weird to release a pop single while for example a joker song is climbing up the charts and it would be messy and all over the place. I think when Joker comes out in late fall the focus is on joker, acting and selling its soundtrack, not promoting LG7

Joker 2's OST Dreaming in Real Life will be the next #1 single, let's forget about Rising Moon!

You know what I meant.  We know something about LG7 is called "Garden of Eden."

 

Even if it was just a code name or a placeholder, it definitely uses "hell" in a more biblical and literal way, not in the  sense of that single quote we got out of the movie

Well, the studio and the creative team decided to have a soundtrack full of jazz covers instead of an original album (à la A Star Is Born).

 

Let's also remember that Gaga is signed to Interscope (UMG) and the movie is from Warner Bros.

 

Also, cross-promotion may be good for the studio but not for the actress. If she cares about the award season, releasing her own music during the campaign for the biggest role of her life so far could backfire.

I really hope people werent lying about Gaga going to fashion week...cause seeing Gaga in couture in the vibes of her new era, likely with black hair, is almost as excitinh as an announcement

Yes, I briefly forgot about the election.

 

You are 100% correct; there is no way she would release her album a week before the election. She will definitely campaign for Biden or promote the vote, and we know that when it comes to American politics, Gaga never sits things out.

In my ideal world Gaga will announce the single today for next friday, so yes a week in advance. Attend fashion week next week, serve LG7 looks, give a remix for a runway show like she did with Scheisse and GH and then release everything on friday.
