Gaga's perceived lane in music by the GP and critics is as a provocative, daring pop voice who did things during the first part of her career no one else could, even if that wasn't fully appreciated at the time. That's her legacy in pop. And she'll get her mega-acclaimed album whenever she decides to deliver on that. Or when she does something that really showcases her musicianship in a fresh way. Anymore tepid AC projects won't develop her legacy in any meaningful way. It's an intentionally safe space and she's done basically all one can do in it.
