Maybe it's because I'm not in the US, Bey honestly isn't very much discussed outside gay circles. Taylor's songwriting talents are honestly not super amazing outside of her lyricism, though maybe the GP sees it differently.

I do agree that with the bolded part, but Ga Ga has a penchance for "dumbing down" her music (see making FW safer and more commercial than the demo) so I'm honestly not having high hopes for that. I do think she does have a lot of songwriting talent that she doesn't show because she thinks to commercial the music needs to be safe. A jazz-pop hybrid album would honestly be really cool and on-brand for her and I hope to see her go in that direction someday.

That's fair tbh. Like regardless I think Bey is just too big of a star for major aspects of her career to be forgotten, but I have no clue how the GP sees her worldwide. I would also low-key be super here for a jazz-pop hybrid. She would end a lot of girlies by going full music theory nerd and tying it to her pop side. :gaycat2:

Imagine a well thought out electronica, acid jazz album from Miss Man that’s experimental yet still accessible produced by Kevin Parker, Mark Ronson, Kaytranada, & Salaam Remi… instantly would be her best album

Before that it was #5 with 3,2M on October 15th. :giraffe: It's hard to predict where HMH will peak with the amount of albums and we don't even know if the movie will give it a big boost or whether Interscope will push it more.

A commercial failure, but a cult classic for fans :clap3:

As long as she has 2 undeniable singles, it’ll do just as well as all of her albums since ARTPOP

That would be very on brand for Miss Man

Not only 60k filtered streams:bibliahh: Her fanbase really hated the song didn't they? :deadbanana4: A GP-driven smash:clap3:

Tame Impala's version of PIss is kinda flawless. I wish Ms Man kept the tone instead of screaming like La Llorona

Truly. Her head voice is so pretty she doesn’t need to sound like she has a megaphone built into her esophagus all the time

It's a crowded release window but if radio supports it and if it resonates with the GP, it can have some cute longevity. Also, even though Shallow was always destined to be a classic, it still has an unconventional structure where it skips the first chorus and goes straight to the second verse. The film, the way it was woven into the narrative, and their chemistry really sold it to people. HMH is more straightforward, pop power ballad and a lot easier to digest in that regard. So I'm hoping the film will help it to quite an extent as well, because the film itself is a surefire summer blockbuster. Tom/Paramount definitely want the film and the OST to be successful and be worthy as a successor to the original's massive legacy. It looks like they know they have a hit on their hands, now it all depends on how well they play their cards.

I loved how she sang a part of ‘Joanne’ before every Gaga reaction. Queen had some questionable opinions but overall she served TASTE.

Agreed.

I hope the movie's effect is cute and the song has good airplay / more playlisting by that time. It can maybe become a cute lil hit.

The instrumental is gorgeous but BloodTroll is still my enemy. :giraffe:

Idk if it's just me but her voice sounds like its fighting the production sometimes on the song. The radio version doesn't really have that.

Looks like the promo is popping on every screen in NY.

It's not that the fans hated the song, it's more that they weren't streaming it correctly. Playing it on loop, playing it on mute etc. All those are filtered out as spam. We're really not a chart savvy and organized fanbase like the Swifties or the BoTS and that's fine. Its fate was always in the hands of the GP and glad they're slowly starting to discover it.
