I don't blame Beyonce or any major pop girls for skipping award shows like the FadMAs. Grammys are the only semi-relevant music awards show left and the only one worth promoting material on. I don't expect Gaga to do another VMA performance until her Vanguard moment. I can totally see Gaga only doing performances outside of the Grammys and Oscars for major career milestones, but not to promote newer material.

She doesn't need to dumb herself down to get acclaim. In fact, I think it's pretty clear that her most acclaimed album would come out of something that's quite avant-garde and left-field pop. No one's gonna hear some LGBT acrobat rejects and give that album a 95.
