With setting the bar high in the early career you probably mean peaking creatively on her second studio album? :rip: because that’s definitely the case with her.

who cares what Atrl thinks? OGHs always have y’all bothered, she could release a masterpiece and they‘d try to drag it to get under y’all’s skin.

The truth is, almost all pop acts have passed her. (Except for Katy perry who’s left in 2013) Gaga could never release an album like renaissance because shes not passionate enough to hire the right writers and producers, and not talented enough to do it herself. Chromatica was the proof of that.

Gaga is definitely far talented enough to self produce and write a full album if she wanted.

Kinda weird reading this on a post comparing Gaga to Beyoncé when Beyoncé has like 50 collaborators on her last album and is the definitition of not being able to make, write, produce, compose anything alone or with a very small team.

This bold ass lie.

The multi-discipline artistic behemoth that was ASIB is something the biggest commercial pop artists could only dream of, and she accomplished that 10 years into her career. I'm SICK of y'all saying she peaked creatively early in her career because y'alls only conception of creativity is wigs and heels.

Renaissance is a great album but Beyonce's name is clearly half the acclaim attached to that album. Any other girl releasing that album would not be getting the same flowers. ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica even at their most half-baked are still more interesting records than what 95% of pop girls release and even though she could stand to give more to her solo studio work, she's still immensely creative to this day. Her musical, visual, and artistic versatility with ASIB's soundtrack and acting, Chromatica's excellent visuals, Top Gun film scoring, and jazz performance all prove her everlasting creativity.

Even her f*cking Dom Perignon commercials are more creative than what a majority of visuals pop artists release.

It's funny that you mention OGHs getting under the skin but then pushed their narrative with her allegedly *peaking* at her second album.

I don't agree with this narrative at all, especially when ASIB exists and it has some of her best songs and work of her career with all the kind of acclaim confirming that.

As for 'Renaissance' I personally find it extremely overrated, and of course Gaga could have not released it, it's the typical rnb-urban album that Beyoncé releases since years just with a dance-house production change, proved by the fact that the album got more rnb nominations than dance, I recently tried to re-listen to it after long time and after 4-5 tracks I quit, I don't even like when I can't even tell when a songs starts or finish, only Madonna with Confessions managed to that properly.

I prefer 'Chromatica' over it by a lot, no matter how much the success or the critical propaganda Pitchfork gays and her team trying to push her work in order to seem this untouchable masterpiece.

The reason she even created Chromatica was because us Liddos are so annoying and adamant with our requests of "wE wAnt DaRk b0ps!111!", :isudumblmao:

So, Gaga was probably pressured to make the next album after ASIB to be tailored for her dance pop fans, even though her state of mind is not 100% on board with that idea. I mean she probably wishes to record dance pop again but on her own terms and AFTER she has gathered enough fresh / innovative ideas for a pop album instead of just recycling / giving a throwback to what she's already done (i.e., Chromatica reminding me of BTW but with a slight spin; Chromatica is less darker/angsty and "more happier")

Chromatica is a good album, but I gotta admit it feels "lacking" in some department: lyrics, hooks and production. The production isn't innovative / boundary-pushing enough for Gaga's caliber. If Gaga is "playing the game", people would find it disappointing because when people think of Gaga = they think of weird and out of the box!

Also, there's too much drop. The excessive drops give me the impression she's putting filler into Chromatica songs because she isn't inspired enough to write more clever lyrics. The hooks are also a hit and miss, what people liked about Gaga's songs are here genius arrangement and multiple hooks in one song, so yeah. Gaga just set the bar so high with her earlier albums, so people (including fans) expect her next album is gonna be great. If it's only "good", haters are gonna claim it's a terrible album for some reason.

Chromatica would’ve done better if it had a good lead like Replay. Stupid Love and the pandemic kneecapped the era. Doesn’t mean that the GP at large has responded way more favorably to popGa than HACGa.

Witness would've also done better if katy didnt cut her hair and 'roulette' was single 2 instead of BA :alexz3:

Yall talk a big game about wanting something experimental, alternative, lo-fi, or jazzy for LG7, but will yall actually stream it if that is the case?

did they stream the dance album they begged for for almost 7 years with 2 minute made for streaming tracks, or did they complain about no jimmy kimmel interview?

Conclusion? Fans should be far off the agenda for LG7

That’s why I said in that very post that she‘s not passionate enough to hire writers and producers that could make such an album - like Beyoncé does. :rip: Self-awareness for an artist is key. Gaga excels at writing ASIB-style ballads. But on the same album we have these awfully basic pop songs with cringe lyrics like Hair Body Face. Songs we all thought were purposefully bad for the context of the film, but didn’t they turn out to be early LG6 songs?
Also, Chromatica proved that she does heavily rely on the creative vision of others.  The album visuals were all Bloodpop, and the 911 video was something the director planned to do for decades. So it’s not even like we can say „at least it’s all her vision!“.

I would actually be here for some lo-fi Godga music that I can play while working. Her overall music is so loud and noisy (not necessarily in a bad way, but it would be nice to change a bit in LG7).

Nobody really questioned Renaissance's acclaim or its achievements, that's not the point, but for me that is not enough to stan or love it, at the end of the day my personal judgement it's what matter the most, without bringning 'Chromatica', I prefer over it tones of other albums like 'That! Feels Good!' or 'Raven' to name some recent releases.

Chromatica and Renaissance don't even reference the same kind of house subgenres (only a third of Renaissance is even house at all) but such a lack of musical reference is totally expected from pop music stans who think the boundaries of creativity are capped at choreography and colorful wigs.
