Studying animal work is indeed a common practice among actors. Countless others have used this technique as well. (legends like Anthony Hopkins and Marlon Brando for instance)

 

We just need to accept that anything Gaga says in her press tours is gonna be x1000 bigger and cause more noise and headlines because she's a much bigger target and star than your average Hollywood actor. Plus, she has a huge dedicated fanbase and haters online blowing her interviews all out of proportion. It is what it is.

It's an incredibly common acting technique that's discussed in virtually all good acting programs. Just goes to show how much Film Twitter actually knows about acting and art

There's a lot of ignorance between those people, they pretend to be expert but in fact they don't know the most basic stuff, just check AW or Goldderby forum, plenty of people that don't know anything about movies from 2 decades ago.

 

They think it's enough to use a David Lynch avi to be experts.

 

I mean just look in this board I came across recently few users that self proclame to be movie experts when in fact are between the most ignorant people I ever met online that don't even know the basic difference between genres of movies.

i know some film twitter types that like Gar. ofc she’s always divisive but her acting abilities are generally respected. i think the problem with her as Patrizia was more the project as a whole being ****, which they were kinda right about

the "rest of hollywood" wasn't at the MET. it's mostly attended by people who want to be big names in hollywood with a few big stars sprinkled in. very few of them actually care about fashion and are just there for the press, which is probably exactly why she doesn't always bother to show up. her love and appreciation for the art that is fashion extends beyond a circle jerk of b and c-list celebrities who can't dress themselves out of a paper bag.
