Lady Gaga

This is part 1 of the Lady Gaga discussion.

Featured Replies

It's really nice seeing Born This Way finally starting to catch up on streaming. It's always been one of her blockbuster successes, but it's slower transition to streaming than others like it has kinda made it seem less than it is. Really interested to see if it can catch up to Talk That Talk and 4, the latter of which it's currently more than doubling in daily streams.

Joanne's decline though...truly her weakest album, even ARTPOP is about to catch up to it soon it looks like (as it deserves to).

Still can’t believe we’re getting Miss Nose in a big blockbuster movie :WAP:

while also being prestige, we really won :jonny6:

i still think this whole thing is high risk high reward tho. Musicals tend not to do super well at the box office, so there's a chance it'll underperform the first movie (which is honestly likely since the first was such a smash), but that won't matter for it's awards run (if it's even good lol)

I still believe that LG7 is coming before JFAD and I'm ready to drag the 2026 girls through the gutters of Babylon once that happens

I believe ROM will be able to stay in top10, but I always saw it as a summer song, so its not that surprising the streams are smaller

But you are absolutely right with this new trend, like Katys Teenage Dream and TOTGA are getting massive updates it was only a matter of time before Gagas music got in this trend

Rain On Me’s potential was summer 2020, with pride and parties vs. it’s daily streams 2 years later. It’s a song in its composition where it’s likely that it’s front-end chartrun is it’s trump card, it’s Spotify run shows that it was a very credible streaming hit. Rain reminds me of her other #1 BTW, and both do very well in June. For me from her last two albums, MR/ROM are some of her best songs, they overshadow their parent project (Gaga in Gucci teas).

Spoiler

2016-2018 was post the MPG pop boom  it was a rough time for them. Like the fact Beyoncé only just now started going back to pop era releases. Gaga kept her foot on pure sales/digital vs. Going full streaming era (Joanne outsold ANTI in pure) outside of playing to her pure strength, Joanne  was seemingly an ASIB foundation/Super Bowl middle America thing.

When the teaser was revealed Variety and other media outlets pointed out from direct sources that it's not gonna be a conventional musical (like some of us already figured it out), this will have some musical scenes but it will continue to be a drama like the first one, as long as the reception will be good, it's gonna be fine at the box office.

ROM should be payola'd as a pride month/gay summer staple. It kind of is. It's one of my fave songs from both her and Ariana and it was one of the essentials on my playlist this summer, but I don't really feel like listening to it these days.

Gaga not dropping f bombs every 15 seconds in the Japan CBT recordings is cute

she also screamed a lot less, and tbh I love that she caters to the differences in audience a bit

@ her team, please put it on some playlist pleaseeee :dancehall2:

The Guild of Music Supervisors does have a category for songs (which Shallow won), so I hope HMH gets into that too. Though that’ll be after Oscar noms are already out dd

Lady Gaga is the definition of having no logevity with her most recent solo music.

Who will be there for her next album if she has no thing released in 5 years

so shallow did 45k more than yesterday, arutw 35k and judas 12k more

the fact that I tried to come for shallows streams a few days ago :biblio: it really said lemme drag real quick :coffee2:

I would guess so - she shrieked the first “ooh la la” in Bad Romance at my show (Arlington) and it kept going :dies:

love it tho, she just gets very into it
