I doubt it had anything to do with ASIB, I think it was just her trying to do camp and it got out of control(which is always a risk) TMB is pretty campy but it works well. I don't like you all saying like it had been years  since a proper pop show when the JWT happened literally back in 2017-2018 and she served some amazing vocals and performances. But yes, I hope she maintains the J+P show(switch some outfits and maybe give the stage a cute simpel makeover) but the new pop show borrows from the chromatica ball.

 

As for new music, I have no idea what she's planning to do. She'll be done with Joker sometime before Q1 2023 ends, and all big tentpole films have reshoots but that's just usually a few weeks(maybe towards the end of 2023) and then, what? Just preparing the new show? But even then, she usually just does 9-12 shows every 3-4 months, so it's not like she'll be booked and busy in 2023. Part of me thinks we'll have to wait a long time before new music but also another part says we won't have to wait that long.

They should've pushed ARUTW. They could've easily gotten another SMASH from the ASIB era. Honestly every era except Joanne could've had another smash hit.

That's what made it so shocking/jarring though, she was serving incredible performances the very same year Enigma started.

 

I think it also has to do with her vocals not being as good as normal, the biggest indicator of which (for me personally) was Shallow, which she seemed to struggle with during some Enigma shows but is able to comfortably do now. I blame the smoking I believe she was doing then.

not me, i loved JWT.. the stage, vocals & costumes were 10/10

The fact that yesterday was its biggest update since 2020

I'm mad at her for not releasing a proper Chromatica Ball tourbook. At least i got the Chromatica tOuR eDiTiOn from Japan (which the only thing from the tour is a damn poster)

 

Based on what she's said and what we now know, Enigmess being what it was had more to do with her being terribly depressed and thinking she'd never be able to tour properly again after the JWT cancelation coupled that with her breakup and other stuff, it all makes sense in hindsight. It's still a fun and careless pop show for the Vegas crowd, just not up to her usual live performance standards, which are very high.

My personal opinion has been that if Gaga were to win BA, it'd probably be in a full sweep with a critics backing and any worries over her previous win(s) would be null and void. Her momentum would be too much to stop in that scenario. The stars would have to align perfectly for that.

 

With that said, in a split field where she isn't undeniable... her already having won an Oscar, potentially multiple, could absolutely be a factor and hold her back in favor of spreading the wealth regardless of the category. And we know for a fact that Oscar voters tend to do that more and more.
